Essential Duties, Responsibilities, and Key Results Area:
- Build prototypes of new spring and support design concepts
- Build prototypes of new mattress and foundation design concepts
- Test prototypes to design requirements and document best practices for specification development
- Evaluate current product against existing specifications for quality confirmation
- Provide project support for AD engineers and specialists
- Evaluate, test and document product iterations
- Enter various build and test requests as needed
- Order, coordinate delivery, receipt and organization of raw materials needed to support builds
- Assist in maintenance of the Lab 6S Program
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive and proprietary information
- Crosstrain with other Lab facilities (NPD and Test Service Labs) and provide support as assigned

- Minimum 2-year technical degree preferred or 3-5 years associated work experience
- Required proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel. Ability to use SolidWorks is desired
- Ability to obtain a license and drive a forklift in a busy production environment
- Ability to obtain a license and operate a yard switcher is desired
- Work overtime as needed
Training/Equipment:
- Comfortable on basic machining equipment including Bridgeport type mill, saws, sanders, and basic hand tools
Work Environment/Physical Requirements: Fast-paced laboratory and prototyping environment. Regular travel is not expected in this position; however, travel around scheduled projects such as program rollouts may be necessary. Should be capable of lifting at least 40 pounds.
