Are you a detail-oriented accounting professional with a strong payroll background and a drive for accuracy? Our client is seeking a skilled Accountant to join their growing finance team.
This direct hire opportunity is perfect for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is ready to make an impact in payroll operations, financial reporting, and compliance.

Position Overview:



  • Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Salary: $50,000 - $80,000/year (based on experience and credentials)
  • Employment Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire



Responsibilities:



  • Accurately process bi-weekly and monthly payroll, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Prepare and maintain journal entries, perform general ledger reconciliations, and assist with month-end/year-end close
  • Manage payroll tax filings, including W-2s, 1099s, and other regulatory forms
  • Work with HR to support benefits administration and payroll deductions
  • Generate and analyze payroll, financial, and compliance reports
  • Support internal and external audits and contribute to the improvement of accounting processes and controls
  • Stay current on GAAP, payroll laws, and accounting best practices



What You Bring:



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in accounting, with a strong emphasis on payroll processing
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks, ADP, Sage, Paychex, or similar accounting/payroll software
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP and multi-state payroll tax regulations
  • Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments
  • 5+ years of accounting/payroll experience
  • CPA license or active progress toward CPA certification
  • Experience working with ERP systems and managing payroll across multiple states
