POSITION SUMMARY: Serves as a key member of the Leadership team contributing to and championing bankwide strategy. Responsible for the overall vision, planning, and leadership of the Bank's efforts to ensure continued organizational success and growth. Provides strategic leadership for the Finance division comprising Accounting and Finance. Accountable for the financial strategies, metrics tied to that strategy and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve the Bank's assets and report accurate financial results. Serves as the Chair of the Bank's ALCO, and member on Budget, Compliance, CRA, ERM and IT Steering Committees. Possesses an impeccable professional reputation, true character, and the highest level of integrity.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serves as a key member of the Leadership team contributing to and championing bank-wide strategy. Directs the Bank's financial function and performance, including strategic planning, financial planning, budgeting, and balance sheet optimization. Monitors pending legislation, emerging industry, and economic trends.
  • Provides strategic recommendations to the President/CEO, Leadership team, and Executive Committee affecting the organization, i.e., evaluation of potential M&A's, retirement funds and investments.
  • Ensures optimal management of the asset/liability mix through the preparation of interest rate risk analysis of the balance sheet using the appropriate evaluation techniques.
  • Oversees the Bank's liquidity position; ensures the liquidity management process is sufficient to meet the daily funding needs and covers both expected and unexpected deviations from normal operations.
  • Ensures that the Bank's funds are properly managed consistent with safety, return on investment and liquidity.
  • Collaborates with the Leadership team to ensure alignment between lending, deposits, and capital planning.
  • Builds cross-departmental relationships to integrate financial insights into decision-making.
  • Mentor and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Assists the independent accounting firm with the audit of the Bank's general ledger. Manages the response and takes action on audit firm recommendations.
  • Maintains compliance with all banking regulations, accounting standards, and internal policies.
  • Serves as the Chair of the Bank's ALCO Committees and a member of the Budget, Compliance, CRA, ERM and IT Steering Committees.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work is generally performed in an office environment, with frequent interruptions. Willingness to work a flexible schedule. Ability to stay in a stationary position, operate a computer, move inside the workplace and exchange information. This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement in accordance with Webster Five's Remote Work Policy.

MINIMUM EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting. MBA preferred.

MINIMUM PRIOR EXPERIENCE: 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in financial services.
