Senior Project Manager - Risk & Governance

Genesis10 is seeking a Senior Project Manager - Risk & Governance for a remote contract position with a leading financial services client. This role must be located in Columbus, Cleveland, Minneapolis (Preferred), Akron, Pittsburgh, Charlotte, Dallas, or Detroit.

W2 rate: $70-80/hour

Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end project delivery across risk, compliance, and IT governance initiatives.
• Act as the point of contact between technical teams and executive stakeholders, ensuring alignment on goals, timelines, and deliverables.
• Drive accountability across cross-functional teams, escalating issues and removing blockers as needed.
• Manage and report on project health, risk, scope, and financials with clarity and transparency.
• Proactively engage with leadership teams including the CTO, risk officers, and governance heads.
• Identify and address recurring issues, working toward long-term sustainable solutions.
• Operate with a strong sense of ownership and an ability to influence without authority.
• Create and maintain project documentation in alignment with enterprise standards and regulatory expectations.

Requirements:

• 8+ years of experience in Project or Program Management in the financial services sector, with a strong understanding of risk, regulatory, or IT governance-related projects.
• Demonstrated success in communicating with senior leadership, including C-level executives.
• Strong interpersonal skills; not afraid to navigate conflict, push back when needed, and drive alignment.
• Highly organized, with a solutions-oriented mindset.
• Experience working in or adjacent to risk management, audit, compliance, or governance functions is highly preferred.
• Comfortable operating in ambiguity and helping build structure from the ground up.
• PMP or other Project Management certifications a plus.
• Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
