Job Overview:

The Ingersoll Rand Finance Team is seeking a BU/Site Controller for our IR Pump and MP Oberdorfer units in Alsip, IL. As part of the leadership team and reporting to VP of Finance, the Plant Controller will lead a dedicated team of finance professionals, overseeing policy maintenance and resource allocation to tackle a variety of challenges and opportunities.

This role is highly collaborative, working alongside the General Manager and leadership to deliver financial acumen that supports and achieves the Annual Operating Plan. Key objectives include catalyzing revenue growth, expanding margins, and optimizing working capital, utilizing Ingersoll Rand's IDX tools and methodologies, all within a framework that upholds our commitment to sustainability, diversity, and inclusion.

Responsibilities:


  • Control Environment:

    Uphold strong financial controls through strict adherence to all existing SOX narratives, collaborating with internal/external audit teams to proactively identify and address potential deficiencies.


  • Safeguard of Assets:

    Implement and execute policies and fulfill fiduciary duties to safeguard all plant assets.


  • Statutory Reporting:

    Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with US GAAP, corporate policies, and standardized procedures.


  • Managerial Reporting:

    Deliver incisive month-end analytical reports that clarify the financial results, highlight trends, identify risks, and pinpoint opportunities.


  • Corporate Finance Liaison:

    Provide prompt and precise responses to inquiries from shared financial services.


  • Forecasting / Budgeting:

    Assist in creating reliable forecasts and budgets to guide plant operations.


  • Business Partnership:

    Engage in and lead business process initiatives, such as Ingersoll Rand Execution Excellence (IRX), to achieve both immediate and long-term goals while enhancing financial literacy among local leadership.


  • Deploy Talent:

    Foster a work environment that motivates the team towards corporate goals, nurtures talent development, and ensures operational continuity through strategic personnel planning. Leverage IR talent processes for recruitment, onboarding, and team advancement, while prioritizing engagement, diversity, and collaboration.




Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • 5+ years of controller experience in manufacturing.

  • 5+ years in a cost/manufacturing environment including standards setting, monitoring, analyzing, and problem solving variances such as PPV and other standard manufacturing variances


  • Proficiency with ERP systems, SAP preferred, demonstrating a strong grasp of technology in financial operations.



Preferences:


  • Quick learner as new intelligence tools, processes, and functionality with SAP is deployed to the business

  • Thrives in fast-paced environment with the ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, while maintaining accuracy of deliverables

  • Compliance and Project Management experience, with proven track record in SOX compliance, audit engagements, and effective project management.

  • Expertise in Excel, HFM, Essbase, and familiarity with data warehouses and business intelligence tools.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to drive financial objectives, combined with sharp analytical thinking and a detailed understanding of accounting in a manufacturing context.

  • Excel at prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment, effectively managing multiple completing deadlines while maintaining accuracy and efficiency

  • Creative problem-solver who can adapt to change and think strategically in a dynamic environment, particularly as this location integrates what was originally a standalone facility from another state

  • Possess strong cross functional collaboration skills, enabling them to build relationships across departments to drive business goals and investigate variances to plan/budget

  • Ability to close the month accurately with in depth analysis of variances to plan and to provide meaningful insights to drive business actions

Work Arrangements & Travel Requirements:


  • This is an onsite work arrangement in Alsip, IL manufacturing facility, with up to 20% travel based on business need.



Pay Range:

The pay range for this role is $135,000-$150,000, excluding incentive opportunities. The pay range takes into account a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skills; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and geographic location. Hired applicant will be eligible to receive (discretionary/nondiscretionary) annual bonuses and incentive compensation.
