Job Profile Summary

The Enterprise Data Science & Analytics team is responsible for leveraging strategic insights, customer analytics, data science, and marketing data to understand customer behavior trends, product relationships, competitive positioning, and marketing opportunities to maximize financial performance and deliver an exceptional customer experience. Within the team, you leverage data science, statistical modeling, and machine learning to optimize pricing strategies and improve profitability across our retail business. You'll work closely with stakeholders in merchandising, finance, and operations to deliver insights and tools that inform dynamic pricing decisions, markdown strategies, and promotional planning.

Essential Job Functions: The incumbent must be able to perform all of the following duties and responsibilities with or without a reasonable accommodation.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain predictive models for price elasticity, demand forecasting, and customer segmentation.

  • Design and execute pricing experiments (e.g., A/B testing, randomized controlled trials) to evaluate pricing strategies and promotional effectiveness.

  • Build pricing optimization algorithms to balance competitiveness, profitability, and inventory goals.

  • Collaborate with merchandising and pricing teams to inform pricing decisions with data-driven insights.

  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging analytics tools to continuously enhance the pricing strategy

Other Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare information and make presentations to various audiences including executives and senior managers

  • Model leadership behaviors to manage partners and business stakeholders. Serve as an effective advocate for change and growth.

  • Establish and promote an organizational culture that encourages partners to seek and formulate ideas and opportunities that increase efficiency and that improve cost control, loss prevention, customer satisfaction and company image. Ensure a culture that values and promotes collaboration between all stakeholders and business partners.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • MBA, Masters, PhD in Data Science, Statistics, Applied Math, Economics, Computer Science or related fields.

  • 3+ years of experience in a data science or analytics role, preferably within retail.

  • Strong proficiency in programming languages, preferably Python.

  • Experience with machine learning libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, XGBoost), statistical modeling, and A/B testing.

  • Expertise in SQL and data manipulation across large datasets.

  • Experience with pricing, demand forecasting, or revenue management.

  • High level of comfort with analytical approaches and quantitative methods to deal with very large datasets.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including explaining complex analytical concepts to a non-expert audience.

  • Experience building and deploying end-to-end data science pipelines in production environments, ideally leveraging cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP desirable but not required.

The pay ranges outlined below are presented in accordance with state-specific regulations. These ranges may differ in other areas and could be subject to variation based on regulatory minimum wage requirements. Actual pay rates will depend on factors such as position, location, level of experience, and applicable state or local minimum wage laws. If the regulatory minimum wage exceeds the minimum indicated in the pay range below, the regulatory minimum wage will be the minimum rate applied.
