Deriva empowers customers with innovative clean energy solutions that strengthen communities and serve future generations Summary The IT Manager role provides management and support to ensure business value and performance of technology for Energy Operations (generation sites, ROC, HSSE, Renewable Services, ISOs, Compliance, NERC CIP), Site Development, Engineering Services, and Sourcing organizations. The IT Manager role manages a team of information technology professionals that are accountable for delivering products and/or services to meet customer expectations or similar IT services/functions for assigned organizational areas. The team is typically made up of a mix of employees, staff augmentation, and/or managed services. Time is either spent managing people or acting as a working manager. This role will be involved in developing the application portfolio strategic plan aligning the plan with overall strategy being driven from a larger business portfolio or leadership. This IT Manager and team will be required to participate in 24/7 support of the application portfolio as needed to resolve issues. This role will be located in Charlotte, NC Responsibilities
Provide leadership and support for the technology managed by the team including up to 24/7 support to ensure the technology systems are maintained, managed, and improved according to business requirements. This includes operating in a way that meets IT annual objects (i.e., safety, reliability, cost management, customer satisfaction, and employee satisfaction). In the event of a disruption of service for supported technology, the IT Manager will work with the team to ensure any service disruptions are managed and resolved appropriately. Maintain positive and effective business relationships with internal business partners who utilize the team's products or services to ensure the team is delivering business value. Create positive and rewarding work environment with growth and development opportunities for employees. This includes providing frequent and fair feedback to employees regarding expectations and performance through recognition, coaching, and goal setting. This also includes encouraging employees to be flexible, innovative, customer-oriented, willing to take reasonable risks and to show initiative and to be responsible for managing self. Manage responsibilities for contingent workforce or managed services to ensure compliance within Company policies for external labor. This includes management of contracts for staff augmentation or oversight of work statements for managed service providers. Prepares and supports non-complex budgets and cost reductions to support the cost-effective management of Information Technology. This traditionally includes labor, expenses, and recurring contracts.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science Management, Information Systems Information Technology, or a other related Degree 6 years or more in a leadership position Working knowledge of Company processes for the specific processes and technologies supported by the organization Collaboration skills to foster effective working relationships with the team and customers Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and accurately using oral and written communications Effective presentation skills Demonstrated leadership skills to establish and maintain a motivated and productive staff Ability to manage resolution of complex issues ranging from technology to vendor to business issues Capable of working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines; able to work effectively in ambiguous or changing situations; ability to manage time effectively Familiar with the Renewable Energy Delivery, Supply Chain/Work Management, Security and Corporate apps, or Energy Management & Process Controls business functions Ability to manage cross-functional teams to define project scopes, objectives, and requirements for Operational system implementations and enhancements
Desired Qualifications
Experience working with auditors to define and document processes and controls in a SOX environment. Including experience with ITGC and SDLC controls development and SOX readiness Experience or knowledge of generation operational systems include Aveva PI, GE EMS, MAXIMO, EZ MAX, MV 90, Conditioned Based Monitoring, VT SCADA, Tagspro, and HSSE systems Strong understanding of generation operations principles, regulations, and industry best practices Proficiency in project management tools and software (MS Project, Jira)
