The Sr Manager, Enterprise Risk plays a critical role in safeguarding the organization by identifying, assessing, and mitigating operational risks that could impact business objectives. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the Enterprise and Operational Risk Framework to effectively manage the bank's risk profile, ensuring internal governance, monitoring, and reporting of key risks are conducted in a timely and accurate manner. This role will not only review and rigorously challenge the risk assessments performed by the line of business and collaborate with these teams to mitigate risks.

Job Description
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Work with senior business partners enterprise-wide to develop and identify the operational risk profile of the Bank and identify key risk indicators (KRIs) to monitor these risks among the eight risk streams.
  • Provide leadership for the ongoing development, implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of the enterprise's ERM Risk Appetite Report. Develop process to tie Risk Profile to Internal Risk Appetite and work with front line to outline necessary actions to bring back within appetite if applicable.
  • Utilizing the GRC system, compile all risk data and provide enterprise reporting on a quarterly basis from lines of business and support areas.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies, working closely with business units and departments to identify potential risks. Develop plans to address identified risks and ensure they are within the organization's risk appetite.
  • Oversee the firm wide issue, action and operational risk event identification, escalation, and tracking process for specific business lines. Work with control groups to ensure analysis of issues, actions and events identified, escalated, and documented within the GRC system.
  • Establish an effective Policy Management process to account for and monitor all significant Bank policies. Conduct second line of defense monitoring and provide effective challenge with respect to first line of defense policies, procedures, and risk results, and provides reporting and communication to senior leadership.
  • Assist Risk Management on significant risk related projects, initiatives and special risk assessments that impact the risk profile of the bank.

  • Proficiency in risk management frameworks and regulatory compliance will be utilized daily to ensure the organization meets industry standards.
  • Preferred skills, such as experience with risk management software, will enhance the ability to analyze data efficiently and provide actionable insights. Overall, a combination of technical knowledge and interpersonal skills will be crucial for success in this role.
Required Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, risk management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in operational risk management or a related area within a financial services environment.
  • Strong understanding of risk management frameworks, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
Preferred Experience:
  • Master's degree in a relevant field or professional certifications such as Certified Risk Manager (CRM) or Certified Risk Management Professional (CRMP).
  • Experience with risk management software and tools to analyze and report on risk data.
