Knowledge Management (KM) is the process by which an enterprise gathers, analyzes, classifies and shares its internal data and information and makes it easily accessible. As a law firm Norton Rose Fulbright US LLP acknowledges that our internal knowledge is a strategic resource for the firm and as such needs to be carefully curated, maintained and made available to the wider organization.

The Coordinator, KM, under the direction of the Director, Knowledge and Research Services, is responsible for the coordination of all aspects KM including: (1) supporting the maintenance of a collection of firm resources, including gathering and uploading knowledge documents from the legal practice as well Business Services functions, such as Learning and Development, (2) updating the knowledge services intranet pages and (3) administrative support of the knowledge management functions of the group, specifically the collection and cataloging of automated forms and documents.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Work closely with the Knowledge Services teams to support the operation
  • Support the successful roll-out of the knowledge lawyer function
  • Gather and load content in the knowledge collection, participate in knowledge meetings as required, assist in the development of tools utilized by the practice, and support the knowledge strategy
  • Prepare various management reports for the KM functions
  • Acquire knowledge and experience to broaden their expertise through on-the-job learning, professional development events, independent study, and targeted training
  • Develop proficiency in the use of technology, tools, and equipment for the relevant functions, including the ability to support the implementation of AI tools
  • Assist other Knowledge Services functions with research projects as required by team workload
  • Perform other related duties as required
Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in applied sciences or related field
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to learn new technologies, AI tools and knowledge tools necessary to perform job duties
  • General knowledge of knowledge management
  • Demonstrated ability to handle details accurately on a sustained basis
  • Demonstrated ability to apply independent judgment in prioritizing work tasks in a busy environment with frequent interruptions
  • Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and written with all levels of the organization
  • Law firm experience a plus
  • Enthusiastic learner, inquisitive and willing to think outside the box and try new ways of delivering work product
