Summary:
* The Architectural Sales Representative at ClarkDietrich promotes our vinyl/composite/steel finishing and cold-formed steel framing products to architects and engineers. This role delivers expert CEU presentations, schedules and tracks sessions for credits, and conducts specification reviews to ensure product inclusion. Using the Dodge Pipeline, they identify leads and project opportunities while supporting Territory Managers with CEU coordination. When not traveling, they focus on specification reviews in their territory, reinforcing ClarkDietrich's industry leadership.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Maintain AIA and CSI membership and actively attend national and key regional association conferences as directed by the ASG Manager, while tracking all shows, including those not attended, in a master schedule to review outcomes and evaluate potential future attendance.
* Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of all ClarkDietrich product lines, proactively staying current with new product releases through ongoing study to effectively represent the company to architects and engineers.
* Schedule, coordinate, and deliver engaging in-person and virtual Continuing Education Unit (CEU) presentations, track attendance, and submit documentation to the AIA to ensure architects receive their credits.
* Assist Territory and Technical Sale Managers in identifying and scheduling CEU opportunities, collaborate with the team to revise and update existing CEU presentations, and support the development of new presentations as needed.
* Provides follow-up to continuing education course participants and attendance reporting.
* Leverage Dodge Pipeline and other online platforms to identify leads for Territory Managers, locate specifications that are obsolete or exclude ClarkDietrich products, connect with large architects for potential CEU presentations, and highlight significant projects to inform Territory Managers.
* Maintains professional and technical knowledge through publications, personal networks and by participating in professional societies.
* Obtaining CSI CDT, CCPR and LEED and certifications (Company paid).
* Promotion of ClarkDietrich Engineering Services to firms.
* Review project specifications and construction documents to identify opportunities for ClarkDietrich product inclusion, ensure accurate representation of products, influence specifications to secure placements, and assist Territory Managers with submittals while updating industry standards.
* Responsible for communicating architectural/customer activity through CRM.
* Conduct specification reviews for architects within their territory when not traveling.
* Assist in updating online platform master specifications for all product lines.
* Meet monthly spec review goals and in person meeting goals.
* Seeks out new opportunities and markets for existing and future products

QUALIFICATIONS



  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, engaging and professional presentation skills.
  • Minimum 50% travel with overnights and occasional weekends
  • Ability to adapt to diverse customer base (Architect one day, Owner one day, Engineer another, etc.)
  • Must be capable of making an organized and persuasive presentation in person.
  • Thorough knowledge of products represented, as well as products of competitors.
  • Understanding of building codes as they relate to steel framing products.
  • Must be well organized and capable of following up to build relationships with firms.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, CRM Adobe Acrobat and Excel.
  • Understanding the role the architect plays in the project delivery process and where the manufacturer falls.
  • Consultative selling skills.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work autonomously/remote.
  • Preferred but not required; CSI CDT, CCPR and LEED certifications


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE



  • College degree strongly preferred or a minimum of 5 years in the construction industry.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS



  • CSI CDT and CCPR certification, or LEED accreditation encouraged. Professional certification reimbursement.
