The Resource Management Director drives staffing tracking and optimization across all Consulting projects globally by ensuring resources are allocated efficiently and effectively. This position maintains the balance between available resources and project demands - assessing both current and future needs. By developing and implementing strategic resource management processes, the Resource Management Director helps optimize resource utilization, enhance productivity, and drive overall organizational success.

The purpose of resource management is to ensure effective assignment and utilization of delivery resources across all Consulting practice areas to enable superior project delivery and client satisfaction. The role of resource management involves allocating resources, forecasting and planning, monitoring and tracking, and development and documenting of processes. This role will provide strategic oversight into the development of centralized resource and staffing function and help prioritize needs across the functional areas to ensure project continuity to better service Syneos Health Consulting clients.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Owner of resource process and responsible for assignment of resources to projects
  • Plan and develop resource management strategies to optimize utilization across Consulting
  • Partner with Practice Area Leaders and Project Leaders to align optimal staffing allocation, and ensure the right skills/people are aligned with project needs.
  • Owner of intake process and form - translate business requirements to resource allocation
  • Maintain workforce management tool / dashboard / budget tracker / smartsheet
  • Coordinate with Development Coaches on individual performance and career advancement and professional development opportunities
  • Partner with training lead & HRBP to identify training gaps
  • Develop and maintain reporting tools to ensure business optimization
  • Identify and resolve resource conflicts, constraints, or challenges - enforce process
  • Assisting with hiring decisions as needed to support delivery gaps
  • Oversees overburn and provides feedback/input/lessons learned for future scoping and resource planning
  • Proactively monitor resource needs / communicate risks and/or gaps based on anticipated pipeline
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to work collaboratively, required - demonstrated influence without authority / interpersonal savvy
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, required
  • Excellent project management skills, required
  • Proven leadership experience in project-based resource management, required
  • Talent for growing and developing internal relationships
  • Understand the offerings of the Consulting business, specifically effort and staffing requirements for the different offerings
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable project management procedures
  • Ability to forecast, plan and make placement recommendations
  • Flexibility in thinking and ability to negotiate competing priorities
  • Excellent organization skills and precise attention to detail
  • The drive for self-development, the ability to collaborate, and an action-oriented work ethic
  • Working in a highly matrixed organization
  • Proficiency with PowerPoint, Excel, Smartsheet, and PowerBI required
  • Ability to travel

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $148k to $178k. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the Syneos Health range for this position. Actual salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. In addition, some positions may include eligibility to earn commissions/bonus based on company and / or individual performance.
