POSITION OVERVIEW

The Analytical Laboratory Technician Intern is responsible for the accurate and timely completion of routine testing by following established SOP's. This internship is available for 12-months, starting in July 2025 through Summer 2026. The intern should expect to work about 10 - 20 hours per week during the academic year and full-time during school breaks and throughout the summer.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform various routine laboratory functions in a safe, precise and accurate fashion to assist the laboratory professional staff including physical and chemical analysis of capsule samples.
  • Achieve department and company objectives using a variety of testing methods and procedures.
  • Gather, compile, and report data in spreadsheet form. Responsible for the timely and accurate testing of products to ensure compliance.
  • Use various pieces of lab testing instrumentation
  • Communicate results to appropriate customers
  • Follow documented procedures and prepare documentation as required
  • Order materials and equipment to support testing
  • Record information in a fashion consistent with department policy
  • Set up, operate and maintain lab equipment/instrumentation
  • Suggest ways to do things better and more efficient

QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Accepted or enrolled in a two-year or four-year college or university as a full-timeundergraduateactively pursuing a degree in Laboratory Science, Chemistry or related field throughout internship.
  • Prior experience in a lab environment or completion of a lab safety course is required.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and safety focused.
  • Ability to complete tasks with little supervision.
  • Ability to shift priority of testing needs.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and Word.
