Global Product Manager, Hips (Memphis, TN or Pittsburgh, PA)

Reporting to the Director of Global Marketing, you will have global product and marketing responsibility for developing and executing on our overall primary hip solution and value proposition, aligned to the Global orthopedic business strategy, and incorporating both implants & enabling technology.

You will be responsible for developing and ensuring execution of all aspects of a competitive primary hip solutions, that would allow us to address the needs of today's and tomorrow's customers - including patient, surgeon, and procurement needs.

As part of this role, you will hold primary responsibility for the development, lice cycle management and product roadmap of the Smith and Nephew Global primary hip portfolio.

You will collaborate closely with our enabling technology teams to ensure aligned strategies and value proposition for the orthopedic business. In addition to the above, you will be responsible for working with the Global Innovation Councils and associated Global KOLs/KELs, to develop and execute to the Global orthopedic strategy.

You will be responsible for working with the regions to raise awareness on our current and future portfolio solutions through marketing communications, tradeshow promotions, multi-channel campaigns with an emphasis on digital marketing.

You will be the marketing leader developing primary hip solution programs to support the worldwide S&N commercial organization, including the development of programs to drive sales market/customer readiness and achieve revenue targets for the overall Orthopaedic business.

What will you be doing?

  • Lead New Product Development projects as a business leader and authority in customer needs and marketing requirements.

  • Review defined product portfolio regarding strategic fit and company growth expectations and make recommendations on product introductions and exits.

  • Be the subject matter expert for their brands, working closely with surgeons & internal teams to keep up to date on market segment trends including competitor market strategies and sales tactics.

  • Provide product support for their key products. Examples of product projects include leading NPI projects including developing and leading user needs and voice of customer activities, business case development, product launches, ad campaigns & promotions, trade show preparation, sales training, medical education meetings, etc.

  • Working in conjunction with sales management, develop comprehensive tools and informational resources to the sales force that create independence and confidence in customer interactions.

Location: Memphis, TN or Pittsburgh, PA strongly preferred. Willing to consider someone who will travel to Memphis / Pittsburgh one week a month to meet with development partners.

What will you need to be successful?

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in 4 year college/university
  • Minimum 3 years of professional product management, marketing or engineering experience is required
  • International and Domestic Travel Expectations - 30-50% Global travel (Domestic and International) for trade shows, product support, KOL meetings, KOL development, market requirement evaluation, user needs development
  • Digital marketing capabilities, data analytics, brand planning & creatives, in-depth knowledge of the New Product Development & Introduction process, business case development, financial knowledge, forecasting, other strong business acumens, strong technical skill
