ABOUT THE JOB:

Responsibilities

The responsibilities for this role will focus on (i) the Company's quarterly and annual SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K, 8-Ks, etc.), (ii) valuation and purchase accounting for Merger and Acquisition (M&A) activities, and (iii) technical accounting for complex transactions.

This role is located in Baltimore, MD and is hybrid (3days/week in the office).

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

  • Key responsibilities include:
    - Timely and accurate preparation and review of quarterly and annual financial reporting on Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 8-Ks, and other SEC filings, including completion of disclosure checklists to ensure filings are prepared in compliance with applicable requirements.
    - Preparation and filing of Form 11-K, the annual report for the Company's 401(k) employee savings plan.
    - Monthly preparation of equity and stock-based compensation accounting.
    - Quarterly preparation of calculations of basic and diluted earnings per share.
    - Quarterly preparation of going concern assessment.
    - Preparation of valuations for goodwill and intangible asset impairment testing.
    - M&A activities, including:
    - Documenting transaction details and related accounting and reporting treatment
    - Performing testing procedures over sellers' data
    - Valuing tangible and intangible assets
    - Research and document technical accounting matters to determine proper accounting and reporting treatment in accordance with US GAAP and SEC rules and regulations.
    - Ensure compliance with internal control requirements.
    - Review recent accounting pronouncements and SEC rules and regulations and document their applicability and impact on the Company. Support the implementation of any new accounting pronouncements, rules, and regulations.
    - Collaborate with internal and external auditors on quarterly reviews, the annual audit, and internal control over financial reporting.
    - Contribute to additional projects and assignments as needed.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • CPA required
  • 3+ years of public accounting, public company reporting, or technical accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and the ability to apply GAAP to new and existing transactions
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Positive, motivated contributor to the Company's fast-paced, rapid-growth, all-hands-on-deck atmosphere
