Product Manager - Home Comfort

SUMMARY:

This role will be responsible for developing and executing all strategic plans for a sub-category of Almo's Consumer business, mini-split air conditioners, to enable sales and profitability, reporting directly to the Category Manager for Home Comfort . The Product Manager will partner closely with the VP of Sales and Category Manager, Home Comfort, by synthesizing market trends, consumer behavior and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities and market gaps in their sub-category. He/She will collaborate with Marketing, Sales, Customer Service, and Planning & Purchasing to identify and implement strategies, products, services, and marketing initiatives; while managing assortment, pricing, promotions, and inventory to optimize category performance. This role is crucial to the overall growth and profitability of Almo's Consumer business; launching a key technology into the market, reviewing customer feedback, and implementing changes to enhance the overall customer experience to drive customer loyalty will be key. In tandem, owning and developing solid relationships with key vendors and suppliers to improve category offerings and negotiate favorable terms is a necessity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify competitive landscape and customer preferences on the mini-split category and provide actionable plans.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive product management strategies to achieve business objectives and drive growth.
  • Maintain robust sub-category management tools and processes, ensuring seamless strategy execution across the organization.
  • Monitor and evaluate sub-category performance, leveraging key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective measures.
  • Participate in supplier negotiations and RFPs, ensuring favorable terms and conditions to drive cost savings and strengthen supplier relationships.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to develop effective product messaging, positioning, and communication strategies for distributed brands.
  • Execute pricing strategies and promotional plans to optimize profitability while considering market dynamics and customer value perception.
  • Oversee product from concept to end-of-life, including launches, updates, and phase-outs, and monitor inventory health and age


Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience as a product manager or related field
  • Strong understanding of consumer behavior and retail trends for commodities managed.
  • Proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office Suite, Category Management Tools and Software for data analysis and reporting.
  • Flexibility to adapt to the changing market dynamics, consumer preferences, and organizational priorities.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on Accuracy and Quality.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
  • Previous experience in the HVAC or air conditioning products space is highly preferred
