THE POSITION

Blair County Children, Youth, and Families is looking for a Caseworker III to join our leadership team in the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Unit. This position gives you the opportunity to work with the Program Specialist to conduct quality assurance and regulatory reviews in order to ensure the agency is continually implementing best practices. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a County Caseworker, you will be responsible for reviewing case files accepted for ongoing service, in-home and out-of-home, to assess regulatory compliance with regulations, policies, and special transmittals. Work involves completing announced and unannounced visits with families and site visits with contract providers, gathering and interpreting data, as well as supporting the implementation of corrective action plans. You will be responsible for training agency staff regarding casework processes to enhance casework practice and quality of services. Additional duties include reviewing and analyzing data of all programs, preparing reports, evaluating program effectiveness, and recommending changes to operational methods.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
    • Work schedule also includes emergency duty coverage as scheduled.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience as a County Caseworker 2; or
  • A bachelor's degree in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences and three years of professional social casework experience in a public or private social services agency; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.

Other Requirements:

  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
