Job Overview

The Respiratory Therapist (RT) New Grad provides family-centered care as demonstrated by recognizing the patient, family and/or designee as a full partner in providing compassionate and coordinated care based on respect for patient's preferences, values, and needs. The RT New Grad provides healthcare related education to patients and families; and functions effectively within respiratory and inter-professional teams, fostering open communication, mutual respect, teamwork, and shared decision-making to achieve quality patient care.

Shift: Variable for orientation and will support night shift . Weekends and holidays as patient care dictates.

Qualifications

Education: Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy/ Care is required at the time of hire. Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy/Care is preferred.

Certification(s):

  • Credentialed as a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC), unless already RRT credentialed.
  • Credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the NBRC within one year of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association is required at the time of hire.
  • Certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is required within six months of hire.

Licensure(s): State of Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) Respiratory Therapist license

Physical Requirements

Ability to Perform Essential Functions of the Job

  • Body Movement: Will frequently stand/walk up to 12 hours per day. Will frequently use hands while keyboarding and writing. Will frequently sit up to 2-4 hours per day while accessing computer, talking on the telephone, and while attending meetings.
