Travere is seeking an entrepreneurial and strategic leader to build and lead our digital innovation agenda. As the VP, Digital Innovation and Strategy, you will define and execute an enterprise-wide digital strategy - inclusive of AI and AI use by vendors- to drive business growth, operational efficiency, and cross-functional impact. This newly created role will serve as a key connector across R&D, Commercial, Medical Affairs, IT, and Compliance, ensuring Travere responsibly adopts emerging technologies to better serve people living with rare disease. This role will also lead efforts to educate and enable the broader organization - building digital capabilities, further developing internal champions, and embedding best practices to help teams scale smarter and work more efficiently to ensure Travere is not only digitally innovative, but also digitally empowered for long-term success.

Responsibilities:

Digital & AI Strategy

  • Develop and execute a forward-looking digital and AI strategy that aligns with Travere's business objectives and patient impact goals.
  • Define the enterprise vision and roadmap for digital innovation, with a focus on scalability, integration, and measurable outcomes.

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Partner with senior leaders across R&D, Commercial, Medical, and Operations to identify digital opportunities and prioritize initiatives.
  • Serve as a thought partner to teams already building digital or AI capabilities, enabling integration and collaboration vs. duplication.
  • Partner with existing team to further build AI capabilities throughout the organization.

Organizational Enablement & Capability Building

  • Develop and deliver frameworks, training, and best practices to build digital fluency across functions and levels.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement and experimentation, helping teams adopt scalable, tech-enabled ways of working.
  • Guide change management efforts to support adoption of new tools, systems, and digital workflows.
  • Establish strategic approach for enabling and/or enhancing AI capabilities with new and existing company vendors.

AI & Emerging Technology Leadership

  • Lead Travere's AI enablement efforts, including foundational use cases in R&D, Clinical, Commercial and Operational areas.
  • Build upon existing frameworks to further define AI governance, experimentation, and responsible deployment.
  • Monitor the AI and digital innovation landscape to inform buy/build/partner decisions.

Innovation Capability Building

  • Establish a digital innovation hub or center of excellence to prototype, scale, and evaluate digital solutions.
  • Guide the company in building the right team of digital strategists, AI experts, and/or innovation partners. This may include direct hires and/or partnering with key hires in specific areas of the business.
  • Further partner with and develop "digital-ready" influencers and champions across the organization who can model, promote, and sustain new ways of working.
  • Foster internal communities of practice to scale digital adoption and reinforce shared learning.
  • Cultivate a culture of innovation and digital literacy across leadership levels.

External Partnerships

  • Evaluate and manage strategic partnerships with AI and tech leaders (e.g., cloud platforms, data science accelerators, digital health vendors).
  • Represent Travere in digital collaborations and consortia to stay ahead of the innovation curve.

Compliance & Governance Partnership

  • Partner closely with Compliance, Legal, Program Management and Regulatory Affairs to ensure all digital solutions - including AI-enabled tools - meet internal governance standards and external regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure privacy, security, and ethical considerations are embedded into digital and data innovation

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Advanced degree preferred in Engineering, Computer Science, Digital Health, or related field
  • 15+ years in digital strategy, innovation, or transformation, preferably within life sciences, biotech, or a similarly regulated industry
  • Leadership: Proven ability to drive cross-functional change and influence executive stakeholders
  • Technical Acumen: Demonstrated professional experience in leading and implementing AI roadmaps, with a strong understanding of AI, data platforms, cloud technologies, and digital health tools - combined with a solid grasp of pharmaceutical development and commercialization processes
  • Vision & Execution: Ability to set strategic direction while rolling up sleeves to build early-stage capabilities
  • Communication: Exceptional communicator, able to translate complex topics into business-relevant insights

Additional Skills/Experience:

  • Is a subject-matter expert in the application of off-the-shelf and customized program management software programs (e.g., Smart-Sheet, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).

  • Exercises excellent judgement in escalating issues and problems where necessary and determining appropriate project communications to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrates an empathic approach to problem-solving, with a willingness to work across all levels of leadership and functional areas in a growing, changing, and fast-moving environment.
  • Demonstrates an ability to influence without authority in a grounded manner.
  • Leverages his/her comprehensive understanding of the drug development process by providing an independent voice on a variety of matters impacting the Travere organization.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally.

Compensation: Our competitive compensation package includes a combination of both cash compensation (base pay and short-term incentive) and long-term incentive compensation (company stock), designed to recognize, retain, and reward employees.

Target Base Pay Range:

$285,000.00 - $385,000.00
