mRNA Associate Scientist - Biomarkers
needed for a contract opportunity with Yoh Scientific's client located in Orlando, FL.
This position is in a major pharmaceutical company, and requires a PhD with 1+ years of experience. Schedule is full-time M-F (7am-8am start time, 8 hour shift)
and may require flexibility to work some evenings and overtime due to projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work on a small, but collaborative team under the supervision of a Platform Head to design and execute preclinical research strategies to evaluate the efficacy and mechanism of action of mRNA candidates using primary cell cultures, immunology assays, and flow cytometry.
- Perform various in vitro immunological and cellular assays on study samples and record results using an electronic lab notebook.
- Multiplex Cytokine assay.
- Design and perform phenotypic analysis by flow cytometry.
- Develop and execute immunological assay for clinical exploratory research.
- Document each experiment and relevant data in Electronic Laboratory Notebook within 1 week of data generation.
- Establish in vitro immunological and cellular assays to evaluate the biological functions of mRNA vaccine candidates in human immune cells.
- Isolate primary immune cells from human whole blood, design and perform phenotypic analysis by flow cytometry.
- Participate in analyzing complex data sets integrating preclinical and clinical exploratory immune profiling.
- Independently design and execute experiment plans and interpret study observations.
- Provide guidance to more junior personnel regarding protocol development and execution.
- Effectively record and report experiments, maintaining GRP and HSE standards and policies.
- Present results in science review meetings and collaborate on project experimental study plans, reports, presentations, publications, and patents.
- Contribute to internal presentations of study data and help to answer questions and lead discussions
Qualifications:
- PhD with 1+ years of experience in immunology, mRNA technology, infectious disease, or other related field.
- Skilled with multiple technologies used to assess immune cell function such as in vitro immunological and cellular assays.
- Experience with primary immune cell isolation from human blood.
- Development, design and execution of experiments and interpretation of results to progress projects.
- A proactive and highly organized individual with ability to adapt quickly to evolving project needs.
- Ability to process, analyze and present data in multiple formats using various programs (Excel, FlowJo, Graph Pad, etc.).
- Ability to take ownership of work and drive projects forward.
- Presentation skills, both digitally and verbal communication formats.
Estimated Min Rate: $38.00
Estimated Max Rate: $44.00
