Astrion is seeking an experienced and visionary Chief Architect to join our exceptional team supporting the Space Systems Command (SSC), Space Sensing Directorate's Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) Tools, Applications, and Processing Laboratory (OPIR TAP Lab) and the Boulder Ground Innovation Facility (BGIF).

Location: Boulder, CO

Must have current TS level clearance with ability for an SCI

SALARY RANGE: Estimated $190,000 USD - $250,000 USD

What You'll Do:

As the Chief Architect, you'll lead the strategic evolution of the OPIR TAP Lab, BGIF, and OBAC technical baseline, influencing enterprise-wide initiatives and technological advancements. You will:

  • Drive strategic planning and enterprise architecture, identifying long-term investments (3+ years) critical to mission success.
  • Document, evaluate, and maintain the integrated hardware/software technical baseline.
  • Identify and mitigate architecture-level risks, resolving complex technical challenges through strategic leadership.
  • Facilitate working groups, perform trade studies, and deliver innovative solutions to advance mission objectives.
  • Oversee IT support activities including infrastructure availability, maintainability, system upgrades, resource management, and rapid-response product generation.
  • Coordinate extensively with internal and external stakeholders, including customer agencies, government representatives, and high-level management.

Required

  • 15+ years of industry-related experience, including at least 5 years in software development, integration, or testing within operational DoD or national security facilities.
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related IT discipline.
  • Active TS clearance with SCI eligibility.
