School of Behavioral Health Job Summary: The Faculty in School of Behavior Health is responsible for education, research, and/or service. Demonstrates loyalty to the mission, policies, standards, and regulations of his/her department, school, and the University, and follows the administrative policies set up by the University and the individual school. Performs other duties as needed. The salaried rate of pay will be determined commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience.
Education and Experience: A master's or higher from an accredited institution. Doctoral degree in counseling or a related field such as MFT preferred. Two or more years of professional clinical practice and/or classroom teaching experience.
Knowledge and Skills: The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong counselor identity through active membership in recognized counseling professional organizations, including but not limited to the American Counseling Association (ACA), American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA), Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (ACES), or relevant state counseling associations. Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated experience in accreditation processes, particularly those familiar with Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) standards and procedures. The ideal candidate will possess competence and experience in developing comprehensive assessments for student progress evaluation, systematic data collection methodologies, and analytical skills for interpreting program outcome data to drive continuous program improvement and growth. This position requires a commitment to excellence in graduate-level instruction, mentorship of developing counseling professionals, and active contribution to the advancement of the counseling profession through scholarship, service, and professional engagement. Knowledge of current technology and educational media used in teaching and presentations. Able to effectively communicate changes and instructions in a professional, effective and positive manner. Able speak in English with professional quality. Think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure. Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.
Licensures and Certifications: Active LPCC or LPC license. Professional certification, licensure or registration as appropriate.
