Where: Petersburg, Virginia (Fort Gregg-Adams)

Type: Non-Exempt

Compensation: $18.96 - $18.96/hour

Work Schedule: Full-time, Day Shift

Tessera is seeking a General Clerk I with a professional attitude. The employee is responsible for scanning, alphabetizing, and filing documents. The duties include the need to alphabetize and sort by numeric order.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

  • Filing: Write names on labels and attach them to files. Alphabetize. Maintain digital files or files in cabinets by alphabetical order. Remove old labels and staples as needed.
  • Creates and scans documents for the purchase order folders into Maximo.
  • Scans all signed purchase order receiving worksheets into Maximo.
  • Assist with inventory of supplies and apparel as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Need to have the ability to organize numbers and letters.
  • Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions.
  • Must have excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience working in an office environment is preferred.
  • Must be flexible and able to prioritize duties.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Ability to use Excel, Word, and Outlook daily.

Physical Requirements:

Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.

  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
  • Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
  • Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.

Requirements:

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access. A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.
