The Opportunity

Data Scientist III - FMIC Data Science (DAT Solutions, LLC, Beaverton, OR):
Regularly lead research projects and offer mentorship and guidance to team
members (20%); Work closely with ML Engineers on the Data Science team to turn
successful prototypes into new products (20%); Evaluate existing ML and statistical
products to ensure continued high-quality results and outputs, and to recommend
improvements and new research where appropriate (10%); Continue professional
learning of tools, techniques and best-practices for modern cloud-based data
science (5%); Review code for both data science researchers and machine learning
engineers (20%); Work with product teams to aid in determining what data to
capture and at what level of granularity to capture the data. Represents team at
cross-team meetings (5%); Build out model monitoring tools (10%); Identify and
make recommendations on new analytical tools, research tools, and methods to
enhance the team's capabilities and efficiency (10%). Must have experience with
the following in order to complete the above-mentioned tasks: Experience using
cloud tools for data science, i.e. AWS S3, EC2, Sagemaker, Lambas, GCP, Azure;
Expert level Python coding; Experience using Docker, ECR and JFrog for model
registry and moving models into production; Experience delivering data science
products in the freight and logistics industry; Experience being on call incident
responder for cloud-based production models; Experience with BI tools such as
Tableau, Power BI or Snowsight; Experience planning out end to end machine
learning model experiments and architectures; Experience coding with other
researchers/engineers on shared repositories such as GitHub, and reviewing code of
others; Experience with GenAI and building LLM prototypes; Expert building
machine learning algorithms and specifically of state-of-the-art algorithms; Strong
knowledge of machine learning, statistics, and related tools and practices;
Advanced SQL skills (any dialect) including experience with window functions and
common table expressions (CTEs). Requires a Master's degree or foreign equivalent
in Data Science, Statistics or closely related field, and at least three years of
experience as a Data Scientist or related occupation. In the alternative, a Bachelor's
degree and five years of experience in the above-mentioned field and occupation
are required. Option to work from home three days a week. Travel required - 5%
(two times a year) to Denver, CO. Salary: $153,816 - $167,000. Send C.V. to
