Overview

Functions as the Pharmacist-In-Charge for the designated Pharmacy Department as defined by the Iowa Board of Pharmacy Examiners. Oversees the coordination of all aspects of medication distribution and pharmaceutical care. Performs human resources functions, including hiring, training, corrective action, evaluations and staff development. Serves a key role in making recommendations for annual goals, objectives, and budget. Fosters a positive work culture by building and maintaining relationships with team members. Will have responsibilities and managerial activity across all UnityPoint Health - Des Moines locations.

Responsibilities

Coordinates and participates in the development and maintenance of up-to-date policy, procedure and training materials for the processes used in the preparation and dispensing of both sterile products and other drug products.


Qualifications

Bachelor's of Science or Pharm.D. from an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy. Current Iowa Pharmacist License. Three years experience as a hospital pharmacist with management experience.
