Primary Purpose of Department
The Office of University Development's primary purpose is to build philanthropic relationships that engage alumni, donors, students, faculty and the community in supporting the University's mission. These efforts include working closely with the donors, governing boards, alumni, friends,
community members, foundations and corporations to increase private giving to the University. The Office of University Development is within the division of University Advancement.
Primary Purpose of Position
This position serves as the Program Coordinator, Prospect Strategy and Research - with responsibility for supporting research regarding potential donors to the University. Provides assistance to Leadership Gift Officers, Annual Giving and Alumni Engagement by identifying prospects with the best potential for current or future donations and utilizing data analytics to support the team function.
Summary of Position Responsibilities

  • Compile and maintain comprehensive prospect profiles using various research tools and data sources.
  • Evaluate donor capacity and engagement using modeling scores; assist with creating targeted outreach lists.
  • Partner with development officers to shape donor strategies and portfolio assignments; lead and participate in strategy meetings and portfolio reviews.
  • Collect, reconcile, and analyze data to support proposal tracking, moves management, and portfolio development; maintain accuracy in the Ascend CRM.

Minimum Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree, and
  • Two years of professional experience, or an
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business, nonprofit management, or related area preferred.
  • A minimum of two years of direct prospect research experience.
  • Experience in prospect research, data analytics, fundraising, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present data to diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in CRM/database systems (e.g., Ascend) and research applications.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
