- This role is a hybrid position with the expectation to work onsite (3) three days a week in the Ericsson office located in either Plano, Texas or Boise, Idaho.

Directs the strategic sourcing activities for major categories of spend - focused on joint design manufacturing (JDM), networking equipment (end point and routers), material suppliers (components) and logistics partners. Accountable to build business cases for make/buy decisions, with the goal of achieving significant initial cost reductions, while maintaining/improving product quality and vendor service levels. Works closely with key stakeholders across the organization to implement effective strategies across all sourcing activities.
What you will do:
We will look to you to ensure that the Global Sourcing and vendor strategy is aligned with our Business and Operations strategic objectives. More specifically, this includes:
- Cultivate, manage and qualify new and existing strategic supplier partnerships to meet defined targets for on-time delivery, quality, cost, inventory, and lead times, driving continuous performance improvements and scale.
- Develop an overall supplier base which creates and sustains a competitive advantage, utilizing global market exploitation, leveraging spending and technologies.
- Support ongoing planning to reflect changes in the supplier and industry landscape, matching the needs of the organization, and communicate this information on an ongoing basis.
- Drive the company to deliver optimum supply chain value through selection of quality suppliers, fact-based negotiations, and performance-based contracting to protect the company's interests.
- Analyze supply base, category market conditions, stakeholder requirements, pricing/market trends and competitive benchmarking to determine appropriate sourcing strategy.
- Strategically develop and implement commodity/supply chain strategies covering all commodities, services and supplier processes throughout a global enterprise to deliver maximum value, leverage, and standardization.
- Direct the development and execution of RFX activity (RFI, RFP & RFQ) for new / existing products, services and commodities.
- Build strategic relationships to ensure close alignment with the business team and supply base to accomplish financial and growth initiatives
- Support key strategic programs with the goal to implement a more resilient, and sustainable Supply Chain, while addressing customer needs, industry trends, and requirements for an agile supply chain infrastructure.
- Foster an inclusive culture of ongoing continuous improvement, productivity and innovation that fosters a highly engaged team.
- Proactively engage, influence, and collaborate with the Finance, Supply Chain, Quality, R&D, Legal and Operations teams to ensure alignment on business objectives and project plans.
The skills you bring:
- 10-12 years managerial experience, global
- Proven track record of strong negotiation, project management & planning skills
- Fluency managing multimillion-dollar contracts of strategic importance
- Proven ability to create category strategies, monitor market trends, and build business cases for make/buy decisions
- Proven ability to scale sourcing organizations on a global level
- Great relationship manager with manufactures, vendors, customers and cross functional business leads
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills (multiple complex analyses simultaneously)
- Strategic thinker around sourcing and contract manufacturing
- Subject matter expert on implementing supplier performance management processes
- Strong change management skills
- Cost efficiency and savings driven
- Contract definition and terms and condition negotiation experience
- Multinational and entity experience
- Leadership experience building and mentoring a high performing team
Bonus Points:
- Experience in Supplier and Supply Chain Management in a high-volume industry, such as Personal Computers or Enterprise/Consumer Electronics is preferred
- Existing relationships with high-tech component suppliers and/or contract manufacturers
- Ability to communicate Mandarin and/or Taiwanese
- Six Sigma, Lean or CSCP/CPIM certification
