About our team

The Global Brand & Creative team within Marketing is responsible for our brand and marketing creative. From building brand awareness campaigns to designing experiences like Dreamforce, our multi-faceted team does it all. We are a collection of designers, copywriters, strategists, PMs, and more, whose sole purpose is to bring the brand to life across our incredible portfolio of work.

The Brand Strategy & Management team is in charge of the brand insights, brand strategy, creative strategy, and brand management that powers the Global Brand & Creative team and Salesforce as a whole. We advocate the power of brand across the organization, guide brand marketing activities, and ensure brand excellence.

About this role

Salesforce is betting big on the future. With the launch of Agentforce, continuous product acquisitions, and the build-out of Operating Units, our leadership is emboldening its teams to go big and go fast. To keep up, it is our top priority to ensure that our global teams and partners have the strategic perspective, brand strategy, and enablement resources they need to act as brand ambassadors.

We are looking for a Director, Brand Strategy to help guide the strategic evolution of Salesforce's brand and drive initiatives including brand positioning, brand messaging, brand architecture, M&A brand strategy, and more. You will serve as the voice of brand - partnering closely with other teams inside Global Brand & Creative and throughout the broader marketing organization.

This role will report into the Head of Brand Strategy & Management and work in close collaboration with leadership to identify the key brand needs, support wider business objectives, and align stakeholders across Global Brand & Creative, Product Marketing, Digital, Events, Sales, Corporate Strategy, and beyond.

What you will do

  • Guide the evolution of Salesforce's corporate brand strategy while maintaining its foundation

  • Own brand strategy including brand positioning, brand architecture, and M&A brand strategy

  • Develop brand messaging strategy and hierarchy to connect assets across the funnel, and collaborate with partners to roll it out across the organization

  • Balance ambitious vision in the age of agentic AI with downstream implications of change

  • Partner with Brand Insights to design research aligned to strategic objectives and brand KPIs, and use data to inform strategic direction of the brand and guide the Global Brand & Creative team as a whole

  • Partner with Creative Strategy to ensure our high-profile campaigns and marketing activities are strategically sound and creatively compelling

  • Partner with Brand Management to build enablement resources and ensure operational excellence and consistency - that the desired brand strategy comes to life across key touchpoints (such as digital and marquee events) and the holistic brand experience

  • Partner with Brand Creative to refine verbal and visual identity

  • Drive brand integration across functions including Campaigns, Product Marketing, Events, and Operating Units

  • Be a brand advocate within Marketing and across Salesforce's global organization

What experience you have

  • 12+ years of experience in brand strategy, with at least 8 years in B2B tech

  • Strong track record of turning insights into brand strategy (and action plans) that drive results

  • Skilled at change management and aligning brand strategy to shifting business priorities

  • Proven success in defining and delivering on brand KPIs and translating brand goals into measurable business impact

  • Ability to evangelize brand internally and guide others on its strategic impact

  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills

  • Experience advancing cross-functional initiatives with stakeholders across functions, geographies, and operating units in fast-paced, high-performance environments

  • Strong creative instincts rooted in audience understanding

  • Skilled at influencing at all levels, including executive and C-level audiences

  • Demonstrated leadership in developing brand strategists and teams

  • BA/BS required; MBA preferred

For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $193,800 to $281,100. Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, benefits.
