As a Direct Support Specialist, you'll play a lead role in serving people with intellectual and development disabilities. Who will love this job: * An advocate -- you will stop at nothing to make sure people have the tools necessary to do set them up for success * A go-getter - you're always looking for ways to add value, do better work, improve processes, build others up, and make the world a better place * A mediator - you naturally draw people together while remaining calm and focused, even in emotionally charged situations Here's what you'll do as a Direct Support Specialist: * Monitor the comfort and safety of the people we serve while ensuring the medical, nutritional and personal care needs are being met * Provide training according to the written program plan for people served, covering all aspects of the person's life as assigned and in compliance with company policy and procedure. * Serve and emotionally support the people we serve in a therapeutic manner using techniques proven to reinforce appropriate individual behavior * Maintain detailed documentation of each person's medical, social, and program progress * Provide support and transportation to appropriate leisure time and community activities * Assist people served in the handling of money and finances * Complete assigned cleaning tasks as schedule to maintain a neat and clean environment Commitment to Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Belonging: At Mosaic, we believe in creating a workplace where everyone has the chance to contribute and succeed.
