Accountant

Are you an organized and detail-oriented Accountant with a solid background in general accounting? Staffmark is looking for an individual with at least three years of hands-on experience in Dothan, AL. If you have a strong understanding of journal entries, ledger postings, payroll processes, and sales tax reporting, we want to hear from you!

Pay: $25-$30/hr

Shift: 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post journal entries accurately and promptly
• Reconcile and maintain general ledger accounts
• Process accounts payable and receivable transactions
• Prepare and file monthly and quarterly sales tax reports
• Assist with payroll preparation and related journal entries
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities
• Ensure accurate financial records and compliance with internal procedures
• Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation
• Perform additional accounting duties as required

Qualifications & Skills:

• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of journal entries, general ledger, and financial postings
• Experience with payroll processing and related reporting
• Familiarity with sales tax reporting and compliance
• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Detail-oriented with strong accuracy and follow-through
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication skills and professional demeanor
