Cooley is seeking a Development & Coaching Manager - Business Professionals to join the Human Resources team.

Position summary: The Development and Coaching - Business Professionals team for is passionate about helping people learn and grow. The highly effective learning and development programs bring together human-centered and instructional design practices to create high impact learning experiences for business professionals across Cooley. We power development experiences that span a wide range of audiences and topic areas including communication skills, leadership development, onboarding, and other professional skills. Our team works collaboratively with business leaders and HR partners to research, design and develop learning experiences that build critical skills and capabilities across the firm. The Development & Coaching Manager - Business Professionals is responsible for providing coaching and training to business professionals. Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Position responsibilities:

  • Work with the Associate Director of Development & Coaching to create, socialize and maintain an internal coaching program for business professionals
  • Work closely with subject matter experts to design, develop and evaluate learning experiences
  • Develop engaging and impactful training materials, including presentations, modules, workshops, resources and e-learning modules
  • Conduct DiSC assessments and facilitate trainings to improve teamwork, communication and productivity in the workplace
  • Working with Associate Director of Development & Coaching, translate learning and performance needs into professional development opportunities
  • Leverage adult learning principles to create innovative, non-traditional learning experiences that build critical professional development capabilities
  • Create content to for the onboarding training and development process, including compliance training and supplemental resources, making enhancements as needed.
  • Create robust measurement and evaluation frameworks to capture the impacts of initiatives on overall performance and organizational effectiveness
  • Maintain a robust learning calendar using the learning management system
  • Serve as a resource to department leaders to help design department-specific training
  • Manage relationships with vendors and third parties as required
  • Ensure that all learning programs comply with industry regulations and ethical standards
  • Conduct new hire professional development onboarding
  • All other duties as assigned or required

Skills and experience:

Required:

  • After orientation at Cooley LLP, exhibit proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, iManage and other firm applications
  • Ability to work extended and/or weekend hours, as required
  • Ability to travel, as required
  • 5+ years direct applicable experience in the field (e.g., professional development, training, coaching, leadership development or HR/employee relations)
  • 2+ years direct experience in professional/executive coaching
  • Eligible for consideration of Senior designation with 7+ years applicable experience in the field with 2+ years of exempt/management experience in relevant roles
  • Experience in a corporate or professional services environment
  • Proven track record in designing and implementing successful learning strategies and programs.
  • Familiarity with adult learning principles and various training methods
  • Strong program management skills

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • ICF Certified Coach
  • Experienced DiSC Trainer
  • Experience consulting with senior leaders to translate business needs into learning and development solutions
  • Supervisory experience

Cooley offers a competitive compensation and excellent benefits package and is committed to fair and equitable employment practices. EOE.

The expected annual pay range for this position with a work schedule of 40 hours per week is $110,000 - $155,000. Please note that final offer amount will be dependent on geographic location, applicable experience and skillset of the candidate. Senior level candidates may be considered for this position and would be eligible for a higher salary range based on experience.
