Role Summary

We are looking to hire an experienced, hands-on Sr Product Manager to lead the charter for end-to-end data strategy and analytics enablement for our Finance organization. This spans across our Accounting, Business Finance, Treasury, Investor Relations, Internal Audit and Global Business Services teams, who are at the core of how we manage our business at Rivian. This role provides the opportunity to have direct impact as we rapidly scale our business and processes, march forward on our path to sustained growth and profitability and implement our vision for Finance transformation.

The successful candidate will have deep hands-on expertise in building and using data products to inform complex business problems and a strong background across Data warehousing/Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, Data Science and Data Visualization. This technical capability will be complemented by a strong knowledge of Finance processes and operations, ideally in the manufacturing industry, and the ability to apply data solutions to improve these processes. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working effectively with diverse stakeholders, thrive in a fast-paced environment and be able to manage multiple competing priorities effectively.

This position will be located in Palo Alto, CA and report to our Director, Enterprise Data & Analytics.


Responsibilities

  • Strategic Partnership: Work closely with senior business stakeholders to identify areas where data can help to drive efficiencies and enable increasingly real-time decision making. Successful candidate will integrate deeply with the business leadership and become a trusted analytic and strategic thought leader

  • Technical Solutioning and execution: Exhibit a hands-on, data-as-a-product mindset and develop strategy around effectively using multiple levers in our technology stack (including emerging AI capabilities) to solve business challenges. Implement best practices in data quality, governance and compliance

  • Leadership: Lead and nurture high performing technical teams, manage stakeholder expectations, collaborate with cross-functional partners to deliver effective data and analytics solutions

  • Project Management: Manage large, cross-functional analytics projects with diverse stakeholders and lead prioritization discussions with senior leaders. Focus on big-picture strategies that drive long-term growth while understanding and addressing the complexities of translating long-term strategies into short-term execution plans / roadmaps Overcome roadblocks and provide regular communications on project status

  • Training: Train and upskill business users on new solutions and enable self-service for non-technical users

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science or related area

  • 10+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Business Intelligence and Data Science

  • Familiarity with modern data tech stack

    • Datalake: Databricks, Snowflake or similar

    • Data Engineering & Transformation: Fivetran, DBT, SQL, Python, R

    • Analytics: Tableau, Hex, Power BI or similar

    • AI: strong interest in applying LLM and other AI capabilities to data and analytics challenges

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to influence and partner cross-functionally across the organization

  • Experienced in translating business needs into technical requirements and working with developers to implement effective and scalable, data solutions

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or Master's Degree in Data Science, Supply Chain or related fields

  • Experience in Manufacturing, specifically Automotive industry

  • Experience implementing Data Governance policies and controls at an enterprise level in medium to large companies

  • Understanding of data modeling and best practices


Pay Disclosure

Salary Range for this role is $213,000 - $266,000 for California based applicants. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, and organizational needs.

The successful candidate may be eligible for annual performance bonus and equity awards.
