Custom Hoists, Inc. is a manufacturer of mobile hydraulic cylinders, otherwise known as hoists. A hoist is a machine designed to lift heavy loads, such as industrial machinery, building material or even people. These unique machines make difficult or impossible tasks manageable in industries such as construction, manufacturing, healthcare, transportation and more.

Custom Hoists is seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivatedAccountantto join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding and experience in the application of accounting fundamentals and theory, and will be responsible for various accounting tasks, including processing daily shipping invoices, maintaining the fixed asset system, and assisting with month-end close and audits.

What You'll Do



  • Process daily shipping invoices: review and distribute invoices to customers.


  • Maintain all facets of the fixed asset system.


  • Responsible for all facets of accounts payable.


  • Prepare, analyze, route, and track all requests for capital spending.


  • Prepare and analyze variance reports, providing explanations for discrepancies.


  • Track and analyze manufacturing costs.


  • Assist with month-end journal entries, accounting close, and reporting as needed.


  • Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts.


  • Prepare and file necessary tax documents and reports, including sales tax.


  • Assist with fulfillment of annual external audit information requests.


  • Assist the Controller and Vice President of Finance with projects as needed.



What You'll Bring



  • Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.


  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in general accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment.


  • Proven knowledge and understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).


  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).


  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
