About the Role:

The Managing Director, DevSecOps serves as the driving force behind the seamless integration of automation into the development and operational pipeline. This role is responsible for crafting and executing a holistic strategy that ensures continuous build, integration, and testing throughout the entire software lifecycle. The role takes charge of implementing security automation and governance frameworks, acting as a bridge between security and business objectives to ensure that robust protections align with operational efficiency and scalability. The Managing Director plays a central role in streamlining and optimizing the development lifecycle, ensuring efficient collaboration between development and operations teams.

Currently, this is a remote-first position, and this position may be required to periodically work on-site at our office and the frequency would depend on the department/division's requirements. Therefore, candidates must either reside within a reasonable distance to commute to our office or be willing to travel to our office in Herndon, when required.


How You Contribute:

  • Strategic Leadership: Define and implement DevOps strategies to enhance development efficiency and streamline deployment processes
  • Infrastructure Management: Build, install, configure, and troubleshoot multiple custom-built applications across cloud and on-prem environments
  • Code Deployment & Environment Management: Oversee secure code deployment and maintain stable production environments for various applications
  • Collaboration & Agile Methodologies: Actively participate in Kanban and Scrum meetings to plan, prioritize, and estimate work with developers and testers
  • CI/CD Optimization: Set up, configure, and troubleshoot multiple continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
  • System Reliability & Monitoring: Ensure operational excellence by optimizing system performance, monitoring infrastructure, and managing incident response
  • Containerization & Orchestration: Manage containerized applications, supporting Kubernetes, OpenShift, and Jenkins to enhance scalability and efficiency
  • Automation & Tooling: Utilize tools like Ansible and Python for automation, including software installation and scheduled task configuration
  • Vendor & Application Support: Work with vendor application support teams (e.g., Red Hat OpenShift) to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues
  • Cloud & DevOps Integrations: Enable cloud functionalities with ARM templates, CloudFormation templates, and DevOps automation solution

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. A combination of education and experience, including military service will also be considered.
  • 12+ years of professional, related experience in IT.
  • 5+ years of experience leading a diverse team or function, in all aspects of complex, cross-functional, large-scale projects, in a fast paced and highly competitive ever-changing data environment.
  • DevOps Expertise: Deep understanding of DevOps principles, methodologies, and best practices for continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD)
  • Infrastructure & Cloud Management: Experience with Azure, AWS, and VMware, as well as managing cloud and on-prem environments
  • Software Development & Automation: Strong background in Python, Ansible, and scripting for automating deployments, infrastructure setup, and scheduled tasks
  • Version Control & Source Code Management: Proficiency with tools like Bitbucket, Git, or similar version control systems
  • Operating Systems & Networking: Extensive experience with Linux and Windows, including troubleshooting and system administration
  • Containerization & Orchestration: Hands-on expertise with Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker, and Jenkins for managing containerized applications
  • Agile & Project Management Tools: Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies, including daily use of tools like JIRA, Confluence, Bamboo, Artifactory, and Nexus
  • CI/CD Pipeline Configuration: Ability to set up, optimize, and troubleshoot complex CI/CD pipelines for rapid and efficient deployment
  • Software Packaging & Publishing: Experience with packaging and publishing software to ensure smooth deployment across environments
  • Application & Vendor Support: Ability to troubleshoot complex issues with vendor-supported applications such as Red Hat OpenShift
  • Cloud Infrastructure Automation: Experience with ARM templates and CloudFormation templates for automating cloud environments
  • Security & Compliance Awareness: Understanding of industry standards and security best practices to ensure compliance with operational requirement

We offer a very generous 401k matching contribution program with the opportunity to defer pre-tax and Roth contributions, as well as catch-up contributions for those who are eligible! We are proud to offer a competitive paid leave program consisting of vacation, sick, and personal time, as well as paid holidays, up to 3 weeks of paid parental leave during a 12-month period, and up to 5 days of paid military leave per calendar year. Vacation time will accrue based on length of service, and new full-time hires can accrue up to 13 days of vacation and up to 10 days of sick time per year. On an annual basis, new employees may use up to 32 hours of accrued sick time as personal time. Additionally, the Clearinghouse observes at least 11 paid holidays per year.

Additionally, we reasonably believe that the salary range for this position is between $215,000 and $245,000 . Bonus eligible.
