Cherokee Nation Federal Consulting is seeking an experienced Medical Equipment Support Specialist to support the Defense Health Agency (DHA) Facility Enterprise (DHA-FE) during the construction, outfitting, and operational transition of military healthcare and medical research facilities. This role is embedded within the Project Delivery Team (PDT) and focuses on the full lifecycle of medical equipment deployment, including planning, acquisition, installation, calibration, validation, and transition. The ideal candidate will bring specialized knowledge in biomedical systems and government medical logistics, supporting the delivery of safe, functional, and fully integrated medical environments. This position involves coordination with government stakeholders, vendors, and engineering staff and requires hands-on expertise in evaluating and operationalizing complex medical systems.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Medical Equipment Support Specialist: $67,000 - $95,000

Pay commensurate with experience.

Medical Equipment Support Specialist Responsibilities Include:

  • Participate as a subject matter expert in medical/medical research equipment through all phases of construction and transition.
  • Conduct inspections, installations, functional testing, and calibration of biomedical systems to ensure operational readiness.
  • Perform technical evaluations and electrical safety inspections in compliance with manufacturer and government specifications.
  • Provide support for new equipment acceptance and resolve delivery discrepancies with vendors.
  • Assist government equipment planners with acquisition schedules, logistical coordination, and integration into the construction project timeline.
  • Review, clarify, and interpret manufacturer documentation and support staff training in equipment use and maintenance procedures.
  • Evaluate equipment serviceability, lifecycle, and safety; advise on reuse/relocation planning.
  • Coordinate with logistics and Initial Outfitting and Transition (IO&T) contractors to support equipment receiving, storage, and deployment.
  • Assist with data entry into O&M and medical maintenance databases, support commissioning and validation efforts.
  • Support PDT collaboration to ensure equipment timelines do not interfere with construction phasing or facility activation.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Medical Equipment Support Specialist Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

  • Associate degree or higher in biomedical engineering, electronics, or related technical field (Required).
  • 5+ years of experience supporting medical equipment planning, installation, and validation (Required).
  • Experience with Mega Projects or medical facility construction over $2M in value (Required).
  • Ability to analyze complex systems and interpret technical manuals and engineering documentation.
  • Familiarity with integrated medical systems, including patient monitoring, imaging, laboratory, and laser systems.
  • Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) certification (Preferred).
  • Experience with DMLSS and/or GCSS-Army logistics platforms (Preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience working in or supporting U.S. military medical facilities (Preferred).
  • Strong interpersonal and documentation skills; ability to train, brief, and advise clinical and technical teams.
  • Associate degree or higher required; bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering, electronics, or a related field preferred.
  • Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) certification preferred.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
