Medica is a non-profit health insurance company headquartered in Minnetonka with offices in Madison and Omaha. Medica will host a 12-week, paid Internship Program. Interns will have the opportunity to network within Medica and with other Interns through weekly Lunch-and-Learns and opportunities to hear from Executives. Department Introduction:

Medica's Automation Development Intern is responsible for designing and developing robots for business processes using UiPath or other approved AI bots. This role involves close interaction with Tech teams, QA leads, and Scrum Masters. The intern will write code to execute test pathways utilizing various proprietary and open-source frameworks and libraries. Additionally, they may be expected to create new framework modules and components that are highly scalable. The candidate should be comfortable with writing and reading abstract classes or interfaces and be able to discuss their design principles.

Additional Responsibilities:



  • Assist in the continuous improvement of the automation framework to ensure minimal maintenance of scripts due to source code changes, addition or removal of data elements, or changes in applications or systems. The framework should be able to service multiple applications of varying platform types.
  • Partner with project teams to develop automation suites within the scope of Selenium/web automation, Windows client automation, file/data processing automation, test data generation through automated processes, and source-to-target automation using Medica's existing framework. The solution should be a near push-button regression suite executable in all environments and reduce the burden of managing test data.
  • Create and update documentation and diagrams describing how the framework processes scripts and objects. Documentation should also detail the framework objects, functions, dependencies, and limitations.
  • Present completed or partially completed design work at regular intervals during product team scrum ceremonies.


Qualifications:



  • Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor's or Graduate degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a suitable technical degree.


Skills and Abilities:



  • Experience developing automation solutions for multiple platforms (Web, Windows, APIs, backend, etc.).
  • Ability to design various automation solutions (not just web-based) and discuss them during the interview process.
  • Comfortable presenting technical materials such as walkthroughs, slide decks, and design documentation in formal or informal environments, potentially to large audiences.


The full salary range for this position is $33,300-$43,100. Annual salary range placement will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, education, work experience, applicable certifications and/or licensure, the position's scope and responsibility, internal pay equity and external market salary data.
