Primary Responsibilities

HDR's Assistant Water Project Manager will: coordinate work of single or multidiscipline teams working in the water/wastewater sector throughout the project's life cycle (from development and initiation to close-out), while under supervision of a Project Manager; be responsible for many aspects of small water/wastewater or conveyance projects or a single aspect of larger projects; coordinate workload through project execution and complete deliverables on budget and schedule; work with the Project Manager, Accounting, Operational and Business leadership for periodic project reviews; participate in or lead presentations, contract negotiations, amendments, change notices, and contract claims; understand and possess ability to communicate technical concepts to other staff and the client; direct the work of engineers-in-training and coordinators; demonstrate strong written and verbal communication and negotiating skills; and perform other duties as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • A Master's Degree Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a closely related engineering field and 3 years of experience in water/wastewater engineering or a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a closely related engineering field and 5 years of experience in water/wastewater engineering.
  • Experience must include experience in: engineering design, cost estimation, and implementation of water/wastewater treatment facilities; collection and analysis of samples from soil, ground water, surface water, soil gas, and treated or untreated waste/wastewater sources; preparing cost/benefit analyses and feasibility studies; data analysis, and preparation of technical reports; supporting maintaining and operating water/wastewater treatment systems; management of project tasks and coordination of staff; assistance with client contact, proposal preparation, and other marketing activities; and regulatory compliance services and permit acquisition.
  • Must hold Professional Engineer (PE) licensure (from any US jurisdiction).

Location of Employment: 3220 El Camino Real, Suite 200, Irvine, CA 92602.

Pay Range: $135,013 to $189,716 per year.
