Summary:

The Rehab Assistant - Cardiopulmonary role, under the direction of the physician/advanced practice practitioner assists with patient care by performing clinical duties and responding to patient telephone inquiries in coordinating care at both the office and outside facilities.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: Must meet one of the following requirements:

Graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience completed; or completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program and 6 months of clinical experience in a practice setting; or 1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting (equivalent experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis). Completion of a Nursing Assistant Program also appropriate.
  3. License/Certifications: Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, or NCCT certification preferred or achieved within 1 year of eligibility. Maine State Certified Nursing Assistant registry required if a CNA. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.
  4. Experience: Two years of experience preferred.
