Overview SCCI is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer for our technical services team supporting the Battle Management System (BMS) portfolio of projects. In this position, you will apply robust electrical engineering processes working closely with the Electrical team. If you have hands-on fabrication skills (soldering, cable making, oscilloscope, voltmeter, small hand tools, crimper, PCB assembly) and skills in electronic circuits, semiconductors, logic design, schematic capture and PCB layout, cable/harness design, and microcomputers, this is a great opportunity for you to join a team that provides critical support to our warfighters. Responsibilities:
- Communicate and collaborate with Electrical Engineering team to clarify program intent, identify problems, suggest changes, and develop and document solutions
- Participate in installation, integration, and testing of developed changes
- Design custom printed circuit boards using ARM based micro controllers to operate weapons on platforms employing BMS
- Design harnesses and cabling between the circuit board and external interfaces
- Create engineering documentation for Technical Design Packages to include fabrication and assembly instructions
- Assist in trouble-shooting and initial startup of new circuit board designs
- Collaborate with the Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Embedded Software, and Quality Assurance Teams
- Assess operational performance criteria and provide input for improving performance
- Develop status reports detailing progress and performance results and present the reports orally
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain an active Secret Security Clearance
- A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline or equivalent experience such as direct hands-on experience with a weapon system application
- Two (2) years of experience providing design concepts, performance analyses, and test and evaluation to a system development team
- Experience demonstrating knowledge of Electrical Engineering best practices and the ability to work in a rapid development process
- Proficiency with PCB design software (OrCad Cadence preferred)
- Proficiency with creating cable drawings (Vizio preferred)
- Knowledge of the best practices of tactical software design
- Familiarity with SolidWorks
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment with evolving program requirements
- Ability to define tasks and project completion schedules
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
