The Infection Preventionist (IP) is responsible for the administration of a comprehensive Infection Prevention and Control program. The Infection Prevention Program implements a multidisciplinary collaborative plan designed to prevent and control the spread of infection among patients, staff, volunteers and visitors in the healthcare setting.

Required Qualifications:
  • BSN or BS in Medical Technology or Microbiology OR
  • RN, Pharmacist or Medical Laboratory Technician with National Certification in Infection Control (CIC)
  • Three to five years' experience in a healthcare or laboratory/clinical setting. Exceptions will be made for other relevant experience.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Ability to work with common computer software applications and databases
  • Ability to work effectively in a team
  • Knowledge and application of quality improvement principles and practices
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to handle diverse and complex situations
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master of Science degree in Medical Technology, Microbiology, or Nursing, Master of Public Health degree
  • Two years' experience in Infection Control
  • Experience in providing staff education
  • Previous experience with public health agencies
  • Formal leadership experience
  • National Certification in Infection Control (CIC)
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
