Director, North America Parts Growth (Remote)

What you will do

You will play a key role in our organization to achieve the objective to double Johnson Controls Parts business over the next three years. You will lead the effort in defining and executing the parts growth strategy, being responsible for leading the Product Management, Commercial and Sales Enablement/Operations teams in North America.

Our team's ability to drive growth relies on developing and nurturing close relationships with key customers, channels as well as all functions within NA and Global Parts. Success in this role will be to meet our growth objective while increasing margin. This will be achieved through initiatives such as increased capture of our install base with predictive parts support, growing our relationships with our distributors, opening new channels, and partnering with Solutions and Service to support new offerings.

How you will do it

  • Define and execute our product management and commercial growth strategies.

  • Create and maintain a growth playbook that outlines the execution of our strategy by initiative.

  • Manage sales teams to drive growth and customer relationships across multiple channels (i.e. Direct, Indirect, Key Verticals) and product business units (i.e. Applied, Industrial Refrigeration).

  • Oversee growth aspects of multi-year planning processes such as Long-Range Planning and Multi-Generational Product planning.

  • Establish and drive a pricing strategy that meets margin goals and leverages the part's life cycle.

  • Guide the Channel Development team to enable commercial activities through effective marketing, training and inside sales strategies and execution.

  • Leverage data and technology to unlock growth opportunities.

  • Develop, implement and sustain sales operations best practices and tools.

  • Ensure customer is incorporated into the business processes.

  • Establish forums for cross product-services-parts collaboration.

  • Select, coach, and develop the team, setting objectives that align with company strategy to inspire and motivate.

  • Manage organizational talent through performance management, succession planning and development.

What we look for

Required:

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in aftermarket parts sales

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or related field OR equivalent experience

  • 12 years progressive management experience within operations, aftermarket, service, engineering or supply chain

  • Willingness to travel both domestic and internationally (20-30%) to develop firsthand understanding of local nuances and the wider organizational challenges

Preferred:

  • Advanced Degree, MS and/or MBA

  • Experience in collaborating with customers in multiple channels and with co-workers in multiple functions and business units to achieve business objectives

  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior management, customers, teams and individuals

  • Strong verbal and written communication competencies

  • Solid quantitative skill set and the ability to analyze, think and communicate with well-supported data

  • Experience driving organizational transformations

  • Familiarity with the building technologies market
