Overview

Supports executive leadership and Vice Presidents on the Data Quality Stakeholder Council to drive the data quality program across the enterprise. Helps lead and coordinate major initiatives in support of Sentara's top line strategic goals and enterprise data services goals. Provides guidance across the community around development of data quality monitoring capabilities, drive data remediation efforts and improve the quality of enterprise data. Co-ordinates with different team's including but not limited to enterprise data services, enterprise analytics, analytic community, business & strategic teams from Sentara Health to drive data quality efforts. Takes a key role in developing and administering the enterprise-level program.

Domain knowledge in the following areas are preferred. While all are not required, the ideal candidate will demonstrate understanding of the following:

Data quality lifecycle management; data quality policy, process & standard management; business analysis; project management; data management; data catalog management; data stewardship management; business process flow management; data mapping; process improvement techniques; data exploration & visualization techniques; analytic programming; database management, including the role of master data management, ETL, storage, processing, and cloud computing; data quality experience working with data from electronic medical record systems, billing systems, claims & member processing systems, strategic and financial systems. Business acumen around basic finance, accounting, operations, management & marketing for health systems including healthcare & healthplan.

Responsibilities

Working closely with the data governance team for creating & using documents containing data mapping, data stewardship, critical data elements, data quality rules, data lineages & supporting its implementation in a data governance and data quality platforms Creating & Implementing documentation which includes but is not limited to policies, manuals, standards & process flows to support data quality Spearhead proof of concepts for new features released in the data quality program and develop a strategy to roll them out to the enterprise Familiarity with defining measures and KPI's to track the maturity and success of the enterprise data quality program. Work with the business subject matter experts (SME's) on data domains, data products, identifying data stewards, defining critical data elements, data quality rules and set thresholds to monitor them. Work with data engineers, database administrators and data quality developers to setup data quality monitoring on different source systems. Monitor data quality reports created in Informatica and other data visualization platforms such as Tableau or PowerBI Manage and provide operational support for data quality monitoring, root cause analysis and remediation Lead the data stewardship practice rollout across the organization by providing necessary content & trainings. Support policy management and implementation in co-ordination with data management, compliance, privacy and security teams. Ensure data management activities are in accordance with the data quality policies and procedures. Support data quality stakeholder council and data quality committee discussions. Lead the efforts for data quality SharePoint releases.

Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer and Information Science or Health Information Management with specialization in data management, data governance, data quality or related field is required.
  • Master's Degree in Computer and Information Science or Health Information Management with specialization in data management, data governance, data quality or related field is preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in lieu of master's degree can be considered.
Certification/Licensure
  • No specific certification or licensure requirements
Experience
  • Required to have 5+ years of experience in health care or health plan
  • Required to have 5+ years of extensive experience working with databases - SQL Server, Databricks, Azure Synapse.
  • Required to have 5 + years of experience working with data quality platforms like Informatica, Attacama, SAS Dataflux etc.
  • Required to have experience with ServiceNow
  • Required to have experience working with JIRA or Azure DevOps
  • 5+ years of a business focused role performing business analysis, project management, trainings etc
  • Required to have
  • 3+ years of experience working with Service Management and Agile project management tools
  • 2+ years of experience in data governance is a plus

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay rate for Full Time employment is: $43.95/hr - $73.26/hr. Additional compensation may be available for this role such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
