Control Center Technician

Due to our continued growth, we are seeking a motivated and growth-oriented person to join our team as the Control Center Technician. This is a non-exempt, full-time position reporting to the Control Center Manager. The initial schedule is second shift, Monday through Thursday, from 2:00 p.m. to midnight. It will later transition to an overnight shift, Monday through Friday, from midnight to 8:00 a.m.

This is a remote position.

The Control Center Technician will monitor system alerts, keep track of voltage levels on equipment, troubleshooting connectivity issues at the job site (remotely), responding to calls from job sites across the nation and assisting with the set-up and configuration of new jobs.

Some of the key responsibilities include:



  • Handling multiple calls and communicating with the general public and with contractors and workers on site


  • Operating and monitoring portable traffic signals


  • Maintaining traffic schedules and job setup


  • Looking for any errors in the program and fixing issues


  • Communicating with co-workers about problems that arise


  • Monitoring trailer voltages, cell connectivity, and Wi-Fi strength


  • Logging all calls with a description of the action taken

Required Qualifications



  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent


Technology/Equipment:



  • Computer skills and proficiency, especially with Microsoft Office products



Physical and Mental Demands

The Equipment Service Technician is predominantly an office-based role. The primary physical and mental demands include:

Office-based roles:



  • Remains in a stationary position (sitting or standing) 50% of the time.


  • Constantly operates a computer and other office equipment, such as a scanner, copy machine and printer.


  • Communicates with others in their area of expertise, both internally and externally. Exchanges accurate information in these situations.


  • Frequently moves equipment and supplies weighing up to 30 pounds.


  • Occasionally, the individual in this position will need to stand, reach, bend, stoop, and kneel.


  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include normal vision.


  • The office environment will have normal lighting and climate control tolerances.


  • Additionally, the office setting will have moderate noise exposure, i.e. business office with computers, printers, light traffic.


  • Travel conditions may involve being in an aircraft or automobile for extended periods of time.


  • Work is performed in the business office at a minimum of 40 hours a week.
