CAD Manager

Genesys Engineering, P.C., a subsidiary of Willdan Energy Solutions ("Willdan-Genesys") is seeking a talented individual to fill the role of a Computer-aided Design (CAD) Manager in our Manhattan, NY office located at 39 Broadway. The CAD Manager will be a key member of the design engineering team and will work closely with our engineering staff in the New York City and Pelham, NY offices. The CAD Manager will report directly to our Director of Operations for Engineering. The candidate's major role and focus of this individual will be to oversee day-to-day CAD operations and coordination for all design engineering projects.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day CAD operations and production.
• Research and validate drawing compliance with governing bodies or local jurisdictions.
• Establish CAD standards, standard operating procedures (SOP), and tool palettes for use by the design engineers and drafters.
• Review CAD production for accuracy and compliance with CAD standards and SOPs.
• Continuously develop and refine drawing standards and SOPs.
• Research, evaluate, and implement new technologies to increase accuracy and enhance efficiency.
• Oversee CAD drafters.
• Oversee architectural scope for projects and review architectural deliverables.
• Coordinate with project subconsultants (ex.: architects, structural engineers, etc.) for compliance with Willdan CAD standards and SOPs.
• Cultivate team proficiency in Revit.

Minimum Qualifications

• A college degree or equivalent in the building industry.
• The candidate should have a minimum of 2 years of professional or internship experience.
• Be capable of working with design teams one-on-one.
• Excellent file management, organization, and attention to detail is paramount.
• Produce diagrams, floor plans, elevations, section cuts, cross-sections, details, and schedules in AutoCAD from redlines provided by the Engineering and Construction team members.
• The ability to understand and implement drawing standards and documentation practices.
• Exhibit a high level of attention to detail including the ability to be consistently precise and accurate with drawings that are free of errors.
• Exhibit strong visualization skills including the ability to turn verbal or crude concepts into detailed drawings.
• Exhibit knowledge of construction including a basic understanding of logistics and assemblies a plus.
• Experience with Revit a plus.
• Be responsible for ensuring all project files are organized, accessible, and archived.
• Work with internal parties to coordinate all project specific CAD related work and resolve any issues that may arise.
• Adaptability, Flexibility, and enthusiasm to learn new programs and skills.
• A keen eye for aesthetics and details.
• Ability to take ownership of one's work and operate with minimal supervision.
• Local to NYC preferred with 4 days in office and one day remote required.
