Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled, detail-oriented, mission-driven Acquisition Analyst to support acquisition planning and execution for emerging and advanced weapon systems. for a high-visibility Department of Defense programs. The successful candidate will bring experience in contract management, acquisition strategy development, and rapid fielding support for complex defense programs and possess strong communication skills to interface with senior-level government and contractor personnel.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Provide expert guidance on DoD acquisition policies, procedures, and strategies across the acquisition lifecycle (from pre-award to sustainment).
  • Develop and advise on innovative acquisition strategies in a fast-paced, environment to support rapid capability fielding.
  • Develop and support the creation of acquisition documentation (Acquisition Strategies, Acquisition Program Baselines (APBs), Statements of Work (SOW), Performance Work Statements (PWS), Acquisition Plans, RFP packages).
  • Support milestone decisions and acquisition program reviews, ensuring compliance with applicable DoD regulations and policies.
  • Assist with programmatic risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
  • Provide input into cost estimates, program schedules, and performance metrics.
  • Interface with stakeholders, including program managers, contracting officers, legal counsel, and technical leads to ensure alignment on acquisition strategy and execution.
  • Support the integration of capability requirements and acquisition strategies with budget and execution plans.
  • Track and manage acquisition documentation through the approval and coordination process.
  • Participate in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and working groups.

Job Requirements

Basic Qualifications:



  • Bachelor of Science degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in federal or DoD acquisition, program management, or systems engineering.
  • Experience developing information papers and decision briefings.
  • Experience serving and managing mission/information demands of executive members of the Army or DoD staff.
  • Deep knowledge of the DoD acquisition framework, including DoDI 5000.02, JCIDS, and Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process.
  • Strong understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense FAR Supplement (DFARS), and other applicable acquisition regulations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
  • Active Secret Clearance required (must be eligible for TS/SCI).



Preferred Qualifications:



  • DAWIA Level II or III Certification in Program Management or equivalent (FAC-P/PM, PMP).
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience with Major Defense Acquisition Programs (MDAPs) or Middle Tier of Acquisition (MTA) pathways.
  • Experience working within military service acquisition commands or agencies (e.g., Army PEO, NAVSEA, AFLCMC, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of OTA execution and hybrid contracting strategies.
  • Familiarity with strategic weapon systems.
  • Strong writing, coordination, and briefing skills for senior stakeholders.
