Job Description

  • Main contact between day supervisor and night crew. Will relay instructions and information to evening crew as needed, as well as relaying information to Supervisor.
  • Fill in for absent employees in both the innovation Lab and Havener Center.
  • Submit any work orders needed for both buildings.
  • Keep an open line of communication with reservations and custodial crew.
  • Check events before they start to ensure everything is properly prepared, cleaned and ready.
  • Make contact with event organizers before events to ensure everything is ready and make any changes or additions as needed.
  • Oversee and assist set up crew (student employees assisted by Custodian I's).
  • Have a working knowledge of AV equipment and be able to set it up as well as assist attendees with any issues that may arise.
  • Regularly check the work of the Custodian I staff to ensure it's being accomplished.
  • Help guide and oversee weekend staff by providing direction, information and assistance as needed.
  • Work closely and receive direction from Day Supervisor.
Shift

Tuesday-Saturday, 2:30pm-11:00pm

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to read and write.
  • A valid driver's license may be required for certain positions.
  • One year of general maintenance and/or custodial experience preferred.
  • Some knowledge of methods for cleaning equipment and buildings; mechanical ability for minor repair of equipment.
  • Ability on a daily basis to:
    • Visualize work area and determine what tasks need to be performed
    • Bend, squat, reach, stretch, walk, stand, sit, grasp and twist repeatedly
    • Climb stairs, step stools, and ladders; climb and descend stairwells
    • Lift, carry, and set down objects of moderate weight (25- 50 lbs.)
  • Work may include one or more of the following:
    • Working in areas of extreme temperatures
    • Wearing a backpack vacuum for long periods of time
    • Wearing protective mask and hearing protection devices
    • Working around dust and cleaning chemicals
  • Good physical coordination and mechanical aptitude sufficient to perform assigned duties.
Anticipated Hiring Range

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $15.00-$16.83 hourly.

Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
