Job Description Summary: The Seed Treatment (Crop Protection) Strategy Lead develops, coordinates, and leads the Seed Treatment supplier strategy.The Seed Treatment Strategy Lead acts as key advocate for assigned national suppliers with key responsibilities of negotiation of best cost and supply situation, program and rebate development and management, collaboration and communication across the Wilbur-Ellis organization, understanding and representing Wilbur-Ellis, and regularly monitoring progress against goals for assigned areas and in alignment with national strategy.

Key Skills and Abilities Include:

  • Extensive knowledge of Seed Treatment industry including knowledge of national cropping trends, markets and crop economics

  • Ability to serve as a national liaison and negotiate competitive positions with suppliers and vendors in support of national strategy

  • Ability to foster teamwork to achieve goals that align regionally and nationally including maintaining and directing supplier strategy and product selection and coordination of local supplier opportunities within assigned region

  • Solid skill in ensuring business processes associated with Seed Treatment purchasing are adopted and followed

  • Deep understanding of national and regional rebate redemption processes and ability to communicate and execute

  • Strong track record in inventory management and managing working capital

  • Ability to effectively present information and influence key stakeholders without authority

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to turn data analysis into opportunities and strategies

  • Ability to coordinate and manage Seed Treatment Sales and Operations Planning (SOP) for the country

  • Ability to lead and execute with a deep organizational awareness

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including ability to manage communication with all levels of the organization

  • Strategic approach coupled with the ability to analyze data, metrics, and programs

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects

  • Solid and trusted relationships between peers and industry contacts

  • Proven track record in current and previous roles

Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include:

  • Directing the national strategy for Seed Treatments including planning, procurement, product selection, inventory control, logistics, distribution, rebate tracking, and collection in support of the national CP strategy

  • Maintaining strong regional relationships with all Seed Treatment vendors including enhancing business to business relationships and developing aligned regional strategies that support and achieve national objectives

  • Coordinating regional product use analysis and modeling to support Sales and Operational Planning (SOP) for Seed Treatments on the National level.

  • Monitoring inventory levels and supply of Seed Treatments

  • Communicating the Seed Treatment supplier strategy, programs, pricing, and key information throughout the division

  • Strong emphasis on influencing without authority to achieve national objectives

  • Representing Seed Treatment needs to the national CP strategy team

  • Work in concert with the Regional Seed Treatment Lead to develop potential regional and or national supplier strategies and programs that incorporate the business side of our regional development efforts

  • Representing the country's Seed Treatment business with the supplier's marketing teams to ensure crop marketing plans align to maximize the overall profitability for all inputs

Compensation and Benefits:

  • In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $124,200 - $173,960.Note that salary may vary based on location, skills, and experience.

  • This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and vacation, holidays, health, dental, vision, mental health, and retirement plan participation, including an employer contribution of up to 7% into your 401(k).
