Overview

We are seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow with expertise in clinical trials, particularly in the field of nutrition and cardiometabolic health. The ideal candidate will have experience in conducting human subject research, managing clinical trial protocols, and analyzing data collected in lifestyle and pharmacologic interventions. Individuals with expertise in body composition assessment and validated dietary assessment tools are strongly encouraged to apply. Registered Dietitians (RDs) are also highly encouraged to apply. This position is for at least two years and will provide opportunities for mentorship, professional development, and independent research growth under the guidance of Dr. Carbone.

This is a Full-Time, Fixed-Term (2 years) position.



Responsibilities

    Collect and analyze biomedical and nutritional data, including body composition measurements (e.g., DXA, BIA, skinfold thickness) and dietary intake using validated assessment tools (e.g., 24-hour recalls, food frequency questionnaires, dietary records).
  • Investigate and conduct behavioral interventions, with a focus on nutrition interventions, for cardiometabolic health, including dietary strategies for improving obesity, diabetes, metabolic syndrome, dyslipidemia, and cardiovascular disease.
  • Prepare and submit intramural and extramural grant applications, including funding opportunities from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), American Heart Association (AHA), and other relevant agencies.
  • Prepare and submit Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications, amendments, and annual reports.
  • Assist in grant writing, manuscript preparation, and conference presentations.
  • Supervise and mentor students, research assistants, and other trainees involved in clinical trials.
  • Conduct and manage clinical trials, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards.
  • Collaborate with principal investigators, research coordinators, and sponsors to ensure protocol
  • adherence.
  • Recruit, screen, and enroll study participants, ensuring informed consent and protocol compliance.
  • Work closely with clinical and community partners to translate research findings into practice.

Qualifications

Required:

* Ph.D. or equivalent in Nutrition, Public Health, Clinical Research, or a related field.

* Experience conducting clinical trials and human subject research.

* Strong understanding of IRB regulations, ethical considerations, and compliance standards.

* Proficiency in scientific writing, communication, and data analysis.

Preferred:

* Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN).

* Experience with nutrition interventions, dietary assessments, and biomarker analysis.

* Experience in body composition assessment techniques (e.g., DXA, BIA, skinfold measurements, anthropometrics).

* Experience using validated dietary assessment tools (e.g., 24-hour recalls, food frequency questionnaires, dietary records).

* Background in biostatistics, epidemiology, or health behavior research.

* Experience writing and submitting competitive research grants.

* Experience working in multidisciplinary teams and patient-centered research settings.
