We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to lead our F&B Restaurant Team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering exceptional customer service, fostering employee satisfaction, and thriving in a collaborative team environment. A solid understanding of food, wine, and spirits is essential. The successful candidate must have experience working within budget guidelines and be flexible with their schedule, including availability on nights and weekends. A minimum of 2-4 years of experience managing an upscale restaurant is required, and hotel experience is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

As the Food & Beverage Restaurant Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of our restaurant and assist in managing other F&B outlets, including Banquets and Starbucks. Your responsibilities will include:



  • Hiring, training, scheduling, and coaching team members.
  • Enforcing hotel policies, including those related to employee appearance, attendance, punctuality, service standards, and job duty completion.
  • Leading regular department meetings and implementing promotions and incentive programs across the restaurant, bar, room service, and Starbucks.
  • Ensuring that standard operating procedures are followed to deliver exceptional guest service.
  • Reporting directly to the Director of Operations.


Food & Beverage Restaurant Manager Duties:



  • Ensure adherence to policies, including liquor requisitions and beverage ordering procedures.
  • Maintain proper liquor inventory levels in beverage areas.
  • Oversee beverage staff to ensure correct ordering, pouring, and cashiering procedures.
  • Coordinate all aspects of large group reservations in the restaurant and beverage areas.
  • Manage reservations, especially during peak times like holidays.
  • Conduct monthly beverage inventory checks.
  • Plan, implement, and monitor promotions and special events.
  • Perform regular inspections of work areas and address any needed improvements.
  • Complete administrative duties as required.


Staff Management:



  • Hold pre-shift meetings with staff to ensure readiness.
  • Ensure adequate staff coverage, especially during peak periods and high occupancy.
  • Maintain consistent communication with department managers and MOD to pass on relevant information.
  • Manage administrative tasks such as interviewing, hiring, performance appraisals, and staff terminations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in all work areas, delegating daily and weekly cleaning tasks.
  • Monitor and ensure the efficiency and quality of service provided by the staff.
  • Manage uniforms, supplies, and equipment inventory.
  • Foster a positive team environment and encourage teamwork among staff.
  • Plan, assign, and direct team members' work.
  • Prepare payroll as required.
  • Promote open communication between all hotel departments.


Training:



  • Ensure all associates are trained in safety procedures and practices.
  • Educate staff on hotel fire regulations, accident reporting, and safety protocols.
  • Implement training programs to optimize team efficiency and align with Marriott standards.
  • Facilitate new hire and ongoing departmental training, adapting content as needed to meet the evolving needs of the team.


Education & Experience:



  • High school diploma required; some college preferred.
  • 3 -5 years of experience as a restaurant manager or assistant restaurant manager.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of food and wine pairings in upscale restaurants
  • Strong knowledge of spirits, liqueurs, and cocktail techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service
  • Valid CA Food Handler Card
  • Valid RBS Certification
  • Relevant military experience is a plus.
