Summary/Objective: The Plant Manager (PM) is responsible for managing and leading manufacturing department group leaders, team leaders, and team members for assigned areas/shifts to ensure safety, quality, a positive work environment, customer requirements, and assembly manufacturing needs are met. Provide leadership and motivation to direct reports in a manufacturing system that emphasizes safety, quality, customer satisfaction, accuracy, productivity, cost reduction, housekeeping, efficiency, training, teamwork, and morale. - Ensure assembly manufacturing operations are running effectively in the areas of safety, quality, efficiency/productivity, cost, and team member morale.
- Provide direction and motivation to group leaders focusing on safety, quality, efficiency, cost, and morale.
- Conduct daily assembly manufacturing production area audits to ensure procedures for safety, quality, equipment, and training are being followed and all aspects of manufacturing are effective, including correcting sub-standards.
- Lead development of Group Leaders.
- Implement short- and long-term corrective actions for manufacturing problems.
- Ensure all departmental procedures are compliant with quality and environmental management systems and programs.
- Monitor daily build sheets and analyze efficiency rates and downtime to ensure customer requirements are being met.
- Lead identification of manufacturing problems and eliminate waste.
- Review and track Manufacturing Key Performance Indicators (KPI), including leading problem-solving for negative trends or goals not met.
- Manage inventory, oversee the cycle-counting program, and ensure efficient shipping processes to meet operational and customer demands.
Working Conditions:
- Primarily working indoors, office environment.
- May work on the floor/outside, could be exposed to elements (heat, snow, etc.).
- May sit or stand for several hours at a time.
- Prolonged exposure to computer screens.
- Repetitive use of hands to operate computers, machines, printers, and copiers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
- Minimum of 3+ years of factory-related experience, with some experience as a Manufacturing Engineer and/or Quality Engineer preferred.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems, such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365).
Essential Functions:
- Coordinate and maintain standardization of processes/methods.
- Develop, lead, monitor, and participate in a manufacturing continuous improvement system.
- Implement, monitor, and maintain a clean, organized department.
- Assist Production Manager in developing, planning, and maintaining the budget, including making adjustments to achieve targets.
- Participate in management discussions and planning sessions to help formulate cost reduction, product improvement, and problem-solving activities.
- Develop and maintain positive team member relations centered on mutual trust, dignity, respect, fairness, consistency, two-way communication, teamwork, and harmony.
- Provide direction and motivation to team members emphasizing quality, efficiency, productivity, cost reduction, safety and health, and morale.
- Ensure further development of group leaders, team leaders, and team members through performance evaluation, development of training plans, feedback, coaching, corrective action, and cascade training. Update team member training matrix and schedule any needed training.

Supervisory Responsibility: This position has the following positions reporting to it:

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a Team Member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The Team Member may have to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. This position requires Personal Protective Equipment. Protective Equipment supplied by the company includes Coating suit, Coating Boots, Spray Socks, Respirator, Work Gloves, Safety Glasses, and Ear Plugs. Employees may be required to provide additional Protective Equipment (Safety Shoes, etc.). Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time salary position, and hours of work and days are decided by production and the Director of Operations. Travel: Travel will be minimal and would be primarily local during the business day. Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering.
- Assembly manufacturing/industry experience, with a minimum of 3+ years, including some experience as a Manufacturing Engineer and/or Quality Engineer.
- Management/Leadership experience of at least 3+ years required.
