Job Description

Perform activities for optimizing and improving the efficiency of logistics operations through the application of engineering principles, data analysis, and process improvement techniques. This role involves streamlining processes, reducing costs, improving quality, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective delivery of products.

This is a long-term intern position, located onsite at our facility in Tallahassee, Fl.

Job Responsibilities

Essential Functions, Key Tasks, & Responsibilities:



  • Process Improvement: Analyze logistics and supply chain operations to identify areas for process improvement, including inventory management, transportation, warehousing, and order fulfillment. Develop strategies to reduce cycle times, improve efficiency, and minimize costs.
  • Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to logistics operations to monitor performance, identify trends, and provide insights for decision-making. Use data-driven approaches to improve processes and resolve operational issues.
  • System Optimization: Work with software systems (WMS, TMS, ERP, etc.) to improve operational workflows and support the implementation of automation and technology solutions in logistics operations.
  • Cost Analysis & Budgeting: Monitor and manage logistics expenses, conducting cost-benefit analysis to ensure effective use of resources. Recommend cost-saving measures while maintaining operational quality.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, production, and sales, to align logistics strategies with broader organizational goals. Provide training and support to staff in logistics-related processes.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure that logistics operations comply with all relevant regulations, including safety, environmental, and quality standards. Conduct risk assessments and develop safety protocols for logistics operations.

Background & Skills

Required Qualifications:



  • Be able to develop recommendations based on continuous assessment and mapping of processes and procedures for all logistics departments.



Education and/or Experience



  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
